In regard to the giving them what they want arguement, of course that's true with any test or interview, tell um what they want and you'll pass or get hired. I agree, it's a little cynical, but that's the way of the world. No amount of tests, interviews, applications or whatever really prove that an employee will work out, employers have to do the best they can in choosing employees and I'm not surprised Dis has tried to add this screening method, flawed as it may be.
I do think it's more about you then anything else. I used "not about Disney" because the people who work there make up Disney. I mean even right now we have people on here trying to "beat" the interview. In all honesty I wouldn't want people like that working to crate a dream for others.

Naturally, the answer that Disney wants, for that question, is Uncomfortable....and "Strongly Agree"....
As I said before, I put Neutral on a few answers, didn't seem to hurt me.

    Hmmm.

I'd say it depends on how they score these tests. Certain questions may carry more weight than others.

Whatcha do, especially if you're on the fence, is you look at the question and decide how important the question/issue is to them. If it's just a throwaway question......then "neutral" won't matter.

But, that particular question, above, about slacking-off......that's clearly gonna be weighted more heavily, and no way are they gonna want to hear "neutral" on that, obviously.

I think being a CM is working with the Disney spirit, there's no addition or removal. You work as part of the Disney spirit. Play out your role.

That's a question I've never seen before on here, and it's a good one.
I think it has a lot to do with the attitude you have going in.
For me, the reason I worked at Disneyland was because I had always enjoyed it as a kid. There was something special about it...something unique. It truly was a world of adventure, fantasy, and the future. It just made you feel good to be there. I always wanted to give it a try, and I did when I turned 18.
I ended up staying on through college, and then five years into my teaching profession as well.
None of those feelings have changed. I still see it as all of those things it was to me as a kid.
Was there a certain dose of reality that entered into the job on occasion?
    Yeah.
    It didn't last long though.

Yeah if you're a Disneyland CM, you are part of the Disney spirit. Move along with the Disney spirit.

All I can think is wow things have changed a lot since I visited TDA. I remember group interviews that got progressively smaller (first 4, then 2, then a 1 on 1 then finally lots of paperwork)... now it is an electronic thingy... wow.

I have heard some very different opinions on that. I personally know someone who got a job there and loved it, and even met his fiancee working there.
But I have also heard from someone that her very close friend worked there and had an awful time of it.
It just shows that everyone has a different experience, it is what you make it probably. Just like any job, it works for some people, it doesn't work for everyone.

Well since you asked. for Me personally being a Cast Member at Disneyland adds more magic for me because it shows how much you put into how much you are passionate about something and make the experience of your past memories if magic at Disneyland towards others who are just beginning their magical memories. For Me I give plenty of magic to many. But considering my role is fairly amounted on the amount of sweat and endurance I give, but ultimately in the end its how much passion you give yourself towards others such as children and the children at heart that makes life worth while both as a Cast Member and as a guest.

That's what being a cast member is basically about. Giving people the Disney Experience.
