A Pointless and Not Picture Heavy Trip Report

Ever since Boy Solo has moved down with me to Fountain Valley (we live about 15 minutes from the park). And since I've started work, mostly in the evenings, Boy Solo and I would go to the park together after work. So we'd spend three or four hours together in the park hopping on rides and wondering around. Since he has a pass and I'm a CM, it's free entertainment for us.

Anywho, on Friday we went to the park after work with my camera and took a few pictures since I hadn't really being doing any photographing lately and none of the park, which is such a shame.

Here's a few shots:










I didn't crop this picture because I want you all to see the glare from the trashcan at the bottom of the picture... these things make the best tripods when you don't wanna carry one around. Of course not every picture will look great, but when does that happen anyway?

I love the pictures! Disneyland night shots are so very lovely. Thanks for sharing them. I'm glad that you are able to freely enjoy the park when you want to. That's got to be pretty nice! By the way, I love your expressions in the Splash Mountain picture. Hilarious!

Gee, and here I thought this was going to be a crappy thread. Not so. The moon shot and the Star Trader shot alone more than make this a valuable thread.

Ahh, you've discovered the advantages of Ablative Shielding - let someone else take Point and get blasted. (Not like you knew that could happen or anything... )

Look into getting a Monopod for night shots - functions as a walking stick when retracted and the grip ball is installed on the camera stud end. Walking Sticks are the same idea but for heavy-duty hiking.

Or a Minipod that sits on a table (or trashcan) and allows you to adjust the elevation and level the camera for an off-kilter walkway.

Bruce, I have been thinking about getting a mono pod, but it's really just me being lazy and not wanting to carry ANYTHING. I'm a stinker.
