Since our good friend SummerInFL was going to be in town, we decided to spend the day at Disneyland. We had a totally awesome day.
After spending Saturday at the Getty (which we LOVED) and Santa Monica, we stayed down at the Hilton, arriving at the park just after opening on Sunday.
We decided to take one of the vehicles up main street.
We also decided to take a picture in front of the castle for Fathers Day
Since it was Fathers Day, I got to pick the rides, first up Toad
After Toad we took a quick ride on Matterhorn, over to Big Thunder and then Buzz.
We were hoping they'd have a soft-open at Toy Story Mania so we headed to DCA about 9:30 and had a quick ride on Soarin' first.
Walking back to Paradise Pier, we ran into the Pratt's so we made our way over.
I have pictures of the queue, but there are WAY too many of those out there. I don't want to bore you.
In line for our first ride
Pratt55 is stylin'
Were ready to go
I absolutely LOVED IT!!! We all did to be honest. I know alot of people are describing it as a video-game, but IMO it's more than that. And it seemed that everybody who rode also loved it just as much. I agree that it's a D+ (not quite E-ticket) attraction. If they had included some AA's in between the show scenes I think it would be an E-ticket. The ride is going to be VERY popular, and will hopefully be that draw that DCA has wanted, and needed. I hope this means good things are coming to the park.
My one gripe is the queue. I think the building and loading area are awesome and look tremendous. But there is no shade in the outside queue, and no air conditioning in the part that is inside. It's going to get VERY hot over here during the summer.
Mr. Potato Head was working all 3 times we rode today
On ride #2, we saw Bullseye running things
My score for ride #2 (on the left), Lil' Clinks is on the right. (I scored 159,000 on our 3rd ride)
After ride #2 we took Lil' Clinks on the Maliboomer for the first time. HE LOVED IT!!!
Then we headed for the meet
PirateMukee talking to Penguinsoda
Belle and Grumpy4
Belle and SummerInFL
Legally Brunette and Pratt55
Fishbulb taking pictures of flowers
We all then headed for Whitewater.
Pratt is either saving some seats, or just wanted to strike a pose
There was a pretty big group today
After lunch, we all headed to TSMM
After TSMM, we rode Maliboomer again (boy's choice) and then to ToT since Summer had yet to ride the CA version
We then went into Animation where Summer turned out to be:
After a quick ride on Monsters, we decided to go see PPP.
I love Heimlich
This float stopped right in front of us and proceeded to get Belle and G4 soaked
Then it was back to Disneyland to give Summer the "ScarLion" Big Thunder treatment, the lines were VERY short all over the park
Then Jungle Cruise since Summer had not ridden this one yet. We ran into another group of MCers (PirateMunkee, Penguinsoda and others) who rode with us. We had I think 19 for the ride.
Our Skipper, very funny
After a quick ride on Space Mtn, we had dinner at Plaza Inn
Then Matterhorn, Fantasyland Side
I thought this was an interesting shot of Space Mtn and Tower
Summer had to leave as she had 9pm reservations for Fantasmic, and we were pretty beat. We said goodbye to the Pratt's and Villains Fan (who were the only ones left of the group) and headed for home.
I snapped a few more pictures on the way out
We had such a fun day. It was great seeing Summer and spending a few days with her. Hanging with the Pratt's is always an experience. The group of regulars was really great (Grumpy4, JustJohn, SimplySabrina, ScarLion, Villains Fan). It was great meeting Evilstepmom and others for the first time. And to our new Australian Friend KennyKoala, hope to see you soon.
