In line with the coming Victorian re-theming of DCA, the Orange Stinger will become like a day/night at the symphany - Silly Symphany that is! Bubye bees. A tornado and smoke effects are among new exciting effects that are sure to make the ride more immersive and fun than ever.

I cant wait for this! I think Twisters are so awesome! So I hope they have like a tornado machine in the middle of the ride or something!

Master Gracey is always on top of things! I love his threads. However, the rumer seems to have gathered more credibility recently, on sites such as Screamscape. It's worthy of further dicussion here.

Interestingly enough, Master Gracey mentioned that Mickey will serve as a music condutor amidst all the rest of the swinging action. Mick's my hero.

I don't know if 'garnered' more credibility was always an issue. These swings were announced on the DCA tracker thread a full week before bluesky disney did and it was always from a credible source, in which the source was THE source. Not a blog.

Like I said, the web is all abuzz with reports on the makeover. The tornado and smoke effecrs are new. So, conductor Mickey and the band are not the only elements that will blow you away in the reincarnation.

The Silly Sympony Swings though is like this:





But themed to Mickey Mouse's 'Band Concert' with Mickey on the very top and the images of other characters on the center base. And the idea is that it'll go higher and crazier and expose more bizarre art as the tornado strikes. Or kinda like the cartoon, you know? I'm not sure if the William Tell Overture will be playing while it's going but that would be kinda cool. It will be placed on the edge of the water so you'll have the feeling that you'll fall in.

That's all I know based on what I've heard.

Your description of the coming new ride contains vivid detail that is far more entertaining information than other theads and blogs. You're not a pain in the least. Together, we're laying out the dramatic improvment of the coming new toonful attraction.

Hopefully exposing it and allowing guests to swing out over the water will make this ride more fun. As it is I have never had the urge to ride this off the shelf ride.

Orange Stinger is the "funnest" ride at DCA, and probably will remain so regardless of how/if it is madeover - as long as the makeover doesn't make the line longer than 10 minutes.

Off-the-shelf or not, there is something awesomely fun about spinning around in circles in a little swing. With Tower of Terror it is one of the 2 rides I genuinely look forward to going on at DCA, and like ToT I love it every time.

If Disney is still interested in that cheezy off the shelf carnival ride it should stay. Not my cup of tea so I voted to level it.

After seeing what they did around Toy Story Mania, I'm excited to see
what they're going to do with the east side of the Pier.
It'll be nice to see the Pier actually following some form of unified theme
in the near future.

I guess I dont understand. How can such effects work if the whole ride is exposed?

So Orange Stinger is staying, Mulholland Madness is staying and Sun Wheel as well, these will all be rethemed and i'm guessing the Golden Zephyr will stay because it fits the theme somehow. So the only attractions from Paradise Pier that are going away are the Jumpin' Jellyfish, S.S. Rustworthy and the Maliboomer?
