    Matt Ouimet's family tree??????

This has been bugging me for a while so I figured I would ask-

Disney is releasing "The Greatest Game Ever Played" on September 30th. For those of you unfamilliar with the film, it is about the Irish-American golfer Francis Ouimet. Does anyone know if he is related to Matt Ouimet?

I don't think this has anything to do with the film being made- its an interesting story and the film looks really good. However, I thought it would make for a pretty interesting coincidence if the two were related somehow.

It's been bugging me since I first heard of Cast Member Matt (I had heard of Francis long time ago).

I have scrambled the names on Google, and can find no relation. Odd that Francis was Irish, as Ouimet is a french name..

Disney gave us an advance screening of the movie during NFFC Convention back in July. Dick Cook said that as far as they knew, Matt was not related to Francis. Matt's son did join us to watch the movie.

I've found nothing that notes his Irishness. I found a screenplay in which his father speaks French at a breakfast table.
It's possible his mother was Irish in some way. But she probably had a little French in her. [waits for LOL and CTM.]

It's also possible that someone says "Working-class Boston, early 20th Century," and "Irish" immediately comes to mind.

Based on the trailer, I have assumed he was Irish, but the name is french-canadian.

Oh, and BA DUM CHING! <rimshot>

In the trailer, his mother has an irish accent, so that was an assumption on my part.

    So, you're half-right.
And, thanks for recognizing my cheap laugh attempt.
