Midway Madness

Hello,
Well today I went to the park early arrived at around 9:30 and road Soarin'. So then there was a line set up for TSMM before opening so I decided to stand in line. Now when the CM told us to follow them to the entrance they assumed that I "cut" the line which I did not. The CM sent me out of line for a few minutes then let me back in. I couldn't believe that I didn't cut and the CM believed them.

Finally when they sent me in I was way in the back. I was all the way to the back of the extended queue.

Well last week GRR was down and they gave us a fastpass good for the whole month of June. So today I used it figuring it out that it was good for a party of 3, which it was suppose to be written for a party 4. Not a very happy day at DLR. One of us had to use the single rider line.

I understand confusion can happen. I guess it wasn't a good day.

Re: Midway Madness

Ouch...I didn't have a good day today either.

I thought they had single rider open for TSMM...so I drove for 30 mins to DCA to only be met with "check back later"...

I wasted my whole morning...sigh...

Re: Midway Madness

At opening, does the line start for TSMM at Sunshine Plaza or can you just go straight to it at Paradise Pier? Will CMs be there to help?

Today, the line started at Condor flats. It starts a little past Soarin' all the way to the left side. And yes, there will be CM's to help form the line. I suggest you be there before 9:30 because they allow people in at 9:30. Everyone then rushes to condor flats to either ride Soarin' or stand in the queue for TSMM.

So if I go to PP, they won't let me in? If that's the case, then i'm going to grab a FP for Soarin' then hop in the TSMM line.

Re: Midway Madness

this morning, they had a line start forming in Condor Flats and then escort the line to the attraction once the park opened.

Re: Midway Madness

A bad day at DLR is better than a great day at home here in AZ. I would love to be able to go after work any time I wanted. Think of how lucky you all are to be able to go whenever you want to. I am so jealous.

Re: Midway Madness

I stood in the "formed" Toy Story ride Sunday morning around 9:40. I asked a few different cast members if this was the ONLY line and they said yes and reassured me that the people waiting for the rope drop in The Golden State would not be able to get in line. Come 9:58 we were walking to the SF area very slow, by GRR people waiting for the drop were cutting in the TSMM line and a TSMM cast member standing there told me "it is not her job" to regulate the line. And at the enterance to Paridise Pier it was a huge unorganized mess. Every person waiting in the golden state was able to walk quickly and cut in front of the already formed line by golden dreams. At this point they had a bout 2 managers trying to orginaze this huge mess to no avail. Talked to a area manager later and said they are still working on how to form the line and let people in??? When asked if I come back tomorrow and bypass the formed line and walk quickly to the attraction entrance i would not be denied enterance. She had no answer. Disney should never have to work on crowd control or guest saftey when opening a new attraction. They should be pros at this.

Re: Midway Madness

Holy Cow! How long are these waits?! My Wife, Son, and I were down there last week and we waited only 30 minutes. The sign said the wait was 50 minutes but it was obviously wrong. That was Wednesday and man, was it HOT!

Yup it was a mess. Also after the rope drop people RAN to get in line for TSMM and cut. People were running past each other. Was it all nescarry though? It was 2 hours right after opening... but by 11:15 the line was about 75 minutes. I bet later in the day it was under 45 minutes.

Re: Midway Madness

Are they not doing the same thing they did for Nemo? Which was to ONLY let in the group that was waiting specifically for the ride into the area first. The Nemo 'queue' was led to the attraction before the rest of the land opened to help cut down on cutting from other entrances.
