I got a fountain! Looks like I may need a degree to put it together! ha!

You'll need to be a member of MENSA and have a doctorate to figure it out, seriously.

I guess the fountain is a limited item? looks very cool...

600 will be made but so far only about 60 have been available.

Thats some good stuff. I've never been a big fan of the Tiki Room, but those fountains look like a cool peice of history to have.

It looked like the fountain had a music box on the bottom. If so, what Tiki song did it play??

Shouldn't be too hard to add one - an old iPod Nano and a small set of powered computer speakers.

( I was going to say "build it in" with a little one-chip 1W stereo amp and a couple of 1-1/2" or 2" speakers - and a power supply to replace the batteries in the fountain section. But then again, you don't want to start kit-bashing a numbered-edition collectable... )

Then you put on the Tiki Room Original Soundtrack - The 17:33 "LP Version" WITH the Offenbach section intact. Search for it, there are MP3's running around.

(They cut from about 3:40 end of opening "Tiki Room" to 6:30 at the Birdmobile "Let's All Sing like the Birdies Sing". I want that 2:50 back!)

Oh they are. I love the details of the carvings. One of my wishes was that they were actual wood and not plastic, can't have everything though.

I was going to set the fountain up in my hotel room, to make sure it didn't leak (Like my 1st Splash Mt big fig leaked, or some of the Frontierland pieces leaked), but when I saw the Tiki Fountain came in pieces like a jigsaw puzzle, I saved that puzzle until I brought it home. I will be setting it up today!

It sounds like the magic time to get there was 5am. We were there at 8 and in line by 8:30am and were waaaaaaaay back by the hub. It took us over 6 hours to get into the shop. It was crazy! But I've learned my lesson for next time... either get there before sunrise or else save up big to buy it from eBay (things were posted and heavy bidding was happening by mid-afternoon!).

A few have already sold at that price, too Aladdin! Kind of crazy, isn't it?

Part of my problem with is that people are listing a lot of the Tiki Room merchandise as "sold out" when it wasn't/isn't. Because the store ran out of stuff about 3 hours into the day, but it was refreshed around noon. So by the time we got in there MUCH later there was nearly everything available. Plus, we're on the list for the fountains by mail. And when I went back last week, there was still a LOT of merchandise available in the Gallery store. So I feel bad that people are paying crazy prices for stuff when they can just call DelivEARS. But I guess if they're willing to pay it, that is their problem...
