George Carlin Dies at 71 - Effect on Carsland?

I'm very, very sad to say that George Carlin died yesterday at the age 71. I will definately miss him.

With his unexpected death, what effect will this have on Carsland? I remember reading somewhere that all the original actors were supposed to reprise their rolls.

And while I'm thinking about it, what will happen with Cars 2? (I know this question isn't DL related but, someone was bound to bring it up.)

as far as the "Cars" thing goes , with technology today , i'm sure they could butcher the audio from the movie and no one would even notice

Who was George Carlin in Cars? I don't seem to remember him. I did really like what he did though.

In the history of the Joke on History Channel they compared him to Lewis Black who does absolutely no preperation and George Carlin who writes everything down. It was pretty funny.

As many times as I have heard him, and seen him, he will forever be the Archbishop in Dogma as far as I am concerned!

Okay Thanks. They probably could just use sound bites from the movie because his part wasn't that large. They should definitely have the scene from Cars where they're talking about the traffic light.

I wonder if they already filmed his dialogue? It seems really far off to have done it but I hope they did. Worse comes to worse I suppose they could use any of his dialogue from the film and probably a lot of lines that didn't make the cut.

Sorry Penguin, didn't mean to start a tangent. On topic... there is a lot of material that Pixar likely has (cuts, outtakes etc.) and a lot more material that they may have access to depending on what paperwork was signed.

I believe this little invention of theirs could help them out in this case:

They may be able to get someone to mimic his voice, but no one can mimic his attitude.
For what it's worth, voices are one of the first things done on both rides and movies. So it is possible that he has already recorded much of what needs to be done.
I remember him saying that when he traveled, he always took Flinstone vitamins so that no one would think he was taking drugs. (This, of course, was after he was clean).
