please elaborate....what are they doing??
please elaborate....what are they doing??
I think this is a good way to mess something up. It was a movie based on the ride...not the other way around.
And i've seen this Jim Hill guy mentioned in various places. I went to the site...but it just seems like he's some guy who writes what he wants to happen in DL. he lives in new hampshire or something like that for goodness sakes. why do people keep taking him seriously?? just curious.
There is a rumor going around that they would make Pirates of the Caribbean two rides instead of one. One side would go left after the pirate ship battle scene and the other would be the traditional. The left side would go into a new show building with it being themed to the movie.
but dont they not have a lot of room to work with in the "matinence" area???
though i love the POTC.. curse idea for "night time"
Before I just go and move this into the rumours section where I happen to think it belongs, let's see if we can figure out - over the course of subsequent posts - just how many people find this one believeable.Originally Posted by Disneyfreak

Seems like it would be little more than a huge waste of time and resources, especially considering that, first, the ride is in no way unpopular and they wouldn't need this sort of gimmick for it. Second, the only positive effect an idea like this could have would be doubling ride capacity by making two routes, but this would not work as the ride would supposedly branch off in the middle of the ride, and there would be no way to increase capacity during loading/unloading or the first part of the ride.
Definately not something that they would spend millions of dollars and close down one of the most famous rides in the park for a long while to do. Too farfetched.
it should also be noted that the alternate version would only be utilized @ night
The "Haunted" version would be a high-speed rollercoaster in the dark - almost the same as the Mummy ride at universal.
The boats all have wheels on the bottom of them, and they lock into a track on going backstage. From there it's just one fright after another as you are chased by ghost pirates. You join the fun back at the burning jail where Johnny Depp is behind bars trying to get the dog to bring the keys.
I can't wait !

Ok as a former cast member. There is no room for this add on. There are several buildings underneath and along the pirate building. Just will not happend. Besides if anything needs to be fixed it should be our less then stellar versions of TOT and Tomorrowland.
That guy Jim Hill was the one who started this rumor. He starts writing this garbage on his site and everyone thinks he's some sort of authority. It would be a horrible idea.
It'll never happen. Too many other things to spend money on than to rework something that is perfect as is.
