    My Final Disney Moment

This past week was my last trip to DLR IN 2008. My AP expires on Wed, so my daughter and I did it up. We took over 765 photos--many of them taking by my 12 year-old.
We did lots of things we'd neglected over the past year. I had never seen HISTA and wanted to be able to witness the lameness for myself. And it was pretty lame. We also did the canoes, a character breakfast, waited for the "good" seats for fireworks and Fantasmic! I even did HM--it had been more than 10 yrs since I'd been on it. Eh. We saw tons and tons of characters and they all signed a shirt for my daughter. (yes, I know pictures of the shirt--I'll get there).
We laughed. We cried. My daughter and I had the best time ever.
On the last day, I did my first ever solo trip. I took the footsteps tour (ohhhh shiney pin) and I didn't go on a single ride all day. I even sat on a bench on NOS and talked on my cell phone for 30 minutes! I just made myself at home.

I took the picture off b/c I hated the idea of people looking at me. Sorry.

"Final Trip?" Geeze, you make it sound like you're dying or something. You really think you'll NEVER return?

I've never had an AP before so 7 trips in one year was kind of a big deal for me.

    OF COURSE I'll be back!!

    I'm sorry I shared.

Don't say that.. It would be a big deal for me too.
She said it was her last trip in 2008 guys, her AP expired, she didn't say she wasn't ever coming back.

Can't wait to see the pics of the shirt!

Thanks-- it was a very emotional trip. My family never had much money for Disneyland. We lived near by but I only got to go if someone we knew could get us in. So now after 36 years of barely making ends meet, I am finally in a position in my life to be able to afford an annual pass to Disneyland. And boy I made it count! After 7 trips, having to hand over my daughter to her father for the summer on Wed night, and going to DLR alone (without my girl!), I spent most of the day just holding back tears. I could have stayed for fireworks, but besides being emotional, I was tired. On my way out, I mustered up the courage to have a photo of myself taken on Main Street. Then I watched the 50th Anniversary show and made my way out of the park.
I drove home early this morning and just now got my pictures online so I could do my first ever trip report. It's a bad day to nitpicked at about semantics. I'll do better next time. Right now....sleep.

Well I'm going to look forward to the rest. Obviously having your AP and being there with your daughter made some very special trips and memories. I know when I first got my AP in 2006 I was so happy to have it and made it count as well!

Hey hey hey, we weren't mad, sleepybear. Before you edited it, your post was worded without the "IN 2008", so I think it came across as a little melodramatic. I wouldn't have said what I did if that had been in there originally, I don't think. I can't speak for composerboy, but I suspect he'd feel the same.

yes, I did add the "in 2008" to clarify the obvious.

    Re: My Final Disney Moment

I could go into a long story about how for a very long time my wife and I couldn't afford Disneyland, and I worked there. After moving on in life we found ourselves in the unique position of being able to afford AP's and we pounced on it. The myriad of TR's we post is specifically because we are squeezing in a trip every chance we have. I can completely understand the memories, and the sadness of having to say goodbye. Hopefully at some point you will be able to get an AP again. Until then I look forward to your TR, and I know a few on here may be able to sign you in (not me, I no longer work there).
