Re: Bringing back the Tahitian Terrace

I have a quick question. Does anybody know what they are doing to the Plaza Pavilion right now? I heard a rumor that a new Disney Gallery would go in that location. Is this true?

I worked in said kitchen back in the day and cooked for both restaurants. They couldn't put the Terrace where the Pavillion is now - just off Main Street and the hub. They could use the kitchen theoretically again if that's what you meant. I've heard that they've taken out all of the ovens and the dishroom on the Terrace/Aladdin side.

Sure looks like they're looking to revamp the Pavillion site in some manner. But much as I'd love to see the Terrace return (my favorite restaurant, over the Bayou or anyplace else) I'm not sure that this is in the cards.

The Plaza Pavilion kitchen is currently being reconstructed and will be claimed for most of 2009 though, as ALL of New Orleans Main Kitchen production is moving there for the Main Kitchen refurb. Near the end of 2009 though, they will have a big brand new kitchen there and nothing to do with it....so who knows, this could be a possibility.

Without any dancehall gals in the Golden Horseshoe, They really need to have a dinner show in Aladdin's Oasis, whether it be belly dancers or Tahitian Terrace, or even offer both shows at different times!

Bring back the TT - it was great.

Disneyland badly needs another good quality sit-down restaurant inside the park.

The atmosphere and food were great years ago, loved having it right next to the Jungle Cruise.

Update the menu and the entertainment a bit, and it would be a winner for sure!

Even if Tahitian Terrace came back as a virgin-cocktail lounge with pupus, rather than a complete dinner - - I would be thrilled!

TT was the best. My wife and I always enjoyed a dinner and show. I , too, worked in foods and the kitchen served both restaurants. Please bring back the TT as a priority seating place. The food was good and the desserts were marvelous.

From what i've heard this is in the works. Tony Baxtor blatantly said he wanted to bring back a few of the classic Disneyland icons including the Tahitian Terrace.

Cafe Orleans is my favorite place in the park to eat. I think it would be great to bring back TT. I remember that place well. I also think that back by the animal petting area where big thunder ranch is they could put up a "priority seating" dining option. Maybe a BBQ themed joint.

Adventureland needs the Tahitian Terrace. I don't think I ever experienced it myself (though I do remember going to Aladdin's Oasis when it was a restaurant, that was great), but the pictures and info I've seen online says it all.

Disneyland has kinda gone downhill in it's dining options. With prices going up but food being downgraded, my boyfriend and I are going to check out Downtown Disney significantly more.

Bring back the TT and Big Thunder Ranch BBQ!! I loved the dinner shows at TT and being able to 'eat out on the trail' at the BTR BBQ. Eating from the chuck wagons was cool and Billy Hill started out at DL by performing during lunch and dinner there. So fun!

(BTW - leave Billy Hill in the Golden Horseshoe and bring the guys from DCA over - the ones that play by Grizzly River Rapids - the minor 49ers?)

I think I must be too young to remember (or just never went to) the TT. It looks and sounds like a great place for dinner. I hope they bring it back.

Re: Bringing back the Tahitian Terrace

Tahitian Terrace definitely needs a comeback. Actually, it never needed to go away, but that's another issue.

Plaza Pavilion also needs a comeback, as do the dancehall girls at the Golden Horseshow. In fact, the original Golden Horseshoe Revue needs to make a big comeback. That also never needed to go away.

I happen to work for a local company that manufactures industrial water heating equipment and we recently released a job to production for the Plaza Pavillion reopening. Maybe they will make that priority seating place
