Re: Pictures of the new French Market food?

That does look pretty good. There's definitely some things on that menu I'd like to try.

I saw on another thread that you can get a roast beef sammie somewhere else in the park, is there anywhere to still get the po' boy?

Please do not misunderstand, here is the menu as posted by Master Gracey (I photoshopped the 2 photos into one to make it a complete menu) I am posting it because it has both the descriptions and the price, so individuals can decide with both head and wallet. If someone would be so kind as to post a picture of each entree, we could easily photoshop the price/description next to it. Again this is not to debate the prices, this is to display them along with the description and hopefully, eventually, a picture of the entree as well.
There were no food plates on display last Saturday, when I was in.

And as for the Photoshop idea, I agree! Whoever ends up doing it has my permission to use my photo I posted of the Jambalaya.

Did I miss something? Why was the other thread locked?

I must say, nothing on that menu piques my interest, if this is French Market, eating picnic-style outdoors.

If they were offering something other than outdoor tables (Even Cafe Orleans has indoor seating--a bit--- at least)......then I'd go ahead and order.

In the other thread, where a poster said that we will all find our way over there, and even if we don't like it, eat it, just because it's French Market....

....That's true of Blue Bayou. Blue Bayou can get away with murder, because it's Blue Bayou and the setting....most people will put up with whatever BB dishes out, no matter the high prices.

    Not so French Market.

The only thing I see, that even remotely whets my appetite, is the "side" order of Macaroni & Cheese for $6.49......but to pay that for Stouffers Mac & Cheese............ with double-coupons, I usually get Stouffers Mac & Cheese for $2.50 at the grocery store !!!

The other thread was locked due to a discussion over the reasons for the price hike. I take partial blame for that lockout.

That is also the reason why I would rather not get into the prices, or the cost analysis associated with them. I do not want to be even remotely responsible for this thread being locked. At the same time I want to make everyone aware of the prices. That way when someone sees a dish they like, they know what the associated price is and are not "sticker shocked" upon arriving at the cashier.

Speaking of prices, is the French Market counter or table service?

yes it is. We're going to be at DL on Sunday and I'm tryign to talk the person I'm going with to try the new menu, but after we both got sick from eating there last time they are very hesitant.

I really don't think it was all the French markets fault. We both ate the fried popcorn shrimp from the salad and although most of the time fried food is fine....when they use old oil I get sick every time....

I really want to try the pasta dish though...

    That pasta looked SO delicious!!

I'm going back next week, and I'll try to get some more pics of the food. I'm really anxious to try the Roast Beef Royalé!

And aye, that is the meal I posted a picture of in the other thread. In fact, here's the one I took with my digital camera:

Is it Cafe Orlean that has the Monte Cristo or was it the French Market?

Thanks. The Blue Bayou only has it for lunch though and when I saw the menu for French Market I was hoping I was mixed up.

I'm looking forward to eating mine at the end of this month! *burp*
