    POD Ursula Float Costume Question

Just looking through some old pictures, & noticed this costume in the Ursula section of Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams. I don't think it's there/used anymore. Any ideas why? Or am I just blanking out.

Re: POD Ursula Float Costume Question

When I was there in May 3rd I saw them there. They come and go I don't know why they do that but the Ursula ball girls are still use.

I've never seen that costume before. The Black Pearl Dancers have worn this costume in every photo I've ever seen of them. Was this an early/short-lived version of the costume?

I can't say I'm sorry for the change - the current outfit is much more attractive in my opinion.

I remember seeing the costume pictured in a video of POD on opening day, but they seem to have been switched out for the costumes that PleaseRemainSeated shows.

The costumes aren't used -- instead of a "dark" version of Ariel's pearl girls, the new Black Peark girl outfits are a little more exotic:

I'm not sure why the change was made, but these look a bit more fitting for a villain float, IMHO.

The picture was from around the time the parade debuted, & it was off Laughing Place.

I wish they still had that costume, as not only does it look more attractive to me (lol), but I think they fit better with the Pearl dancers for Ariel's float.

I've seen both of those costumes.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Re: POD Ursula Float Costume Question

That was the original costume for the pearl dancers for ursula back when the parade opened on May 5th, by about that holiday season they switched to the costume that you see today.

My guess is that the change was made so the pearl dancers would match the flotsam and jetsam puppet holders. I really don't see the reason, I think the originals that are in your picture were much better.

You're welcome! I see you're using a piece by that artist too.
