Disneyland Wednesday - Let's talk about Fantasyland

Fantasyland - A lot of people would probably say that this is their favorite land at Disneyland.

When Walt Disney had his television show, it was Tinkerbell flying over the castle and Fantasyland that was the overriding theme.

I personally love to head for Fantasyland the first thing in the morning and get on Dumbo. As you are riding on such a simple little ride such as it is, you can just look down and see the rest of the land and feel it's excitement.

Fantasyland has themed rides, from so many Walt Disney classics. Peter Pan, Pinocchio, just to name a few.

Fantasyland makes us feel like little kids. At least I always do.

Let's talk about Fantasyland.

I really love Fantasyland, and am amazed that a space so small can be so much better themed than a much larger space in WDW. This is what first stood out for us at DL.

Toady and Storybook Land are our favorites. I can't believe we have never ridden Dumbo - next time for sure!!!

Casey Jr. is really great. I love that ride and the Canal Boats. Their so simple, but so much fun. One day, I'll have to make Casey my first ride...

I basically always seem to follow the same patterns, so this would be a very different approach. There was a time, like 10 years or so, where I hadn't been on Casey or the Canal Boats or the Motorboat Cruise at all... It's a shame that the Motorboats are gone... sigh...

I really love Fantasyland. The castle is so pretty, it makes me ooh and ahh every time I see it all lit up at night.

And I love Storybook land! It was one of my favorites as a little kid, I had this total thing for miniatures.

And let's not forget Peter Pan's Flight! What an awesome ride, even if the line is a little long usually. I love Fantasyland.

Casey Jr. ROCKS! ALice ROCKS!

The last Fantasyland ride that I conquered (and I'm pretty sure I've ridden them all .... even the Yesterland attractions) was the teacups, 'cuz I thought they would make me HURL!

I find it very strange that people cannot handle the teacups, but will ride the Matterhorn. To me the teacups are tame and I will not ride rollercoasters. To each his own. Fantasyland has something for everyone.

I'm one of those people that can do the Matterhorn but not the teacups. For me, the spinning part is what causes disorientation and nausea. Since the the matterhorn doesn't spin or have loops, I have no problems with it. For me, Fantasyland has alot of great childhood memories that I'm now reliving with my two daughters (both 6 or under)....alas that can be said for most of Disneyland though.

Re: Disneyland Wednesday - Let's talk about Fantasyland

Ahhh, fantasyland. What a great little land.

Let's think about the fun and good things that come with fantasyland. Such as no other non-disney park has done or will ever do with childhood whimsy and wonder what Disneyland has done. Can you go to Knott's Berry Farm and ride through an Alpine Mountain? No! Can you go to Six Flags and drive a motorcar to hell? No! Can you go to Universal Studios and tip a boat back and forth while listening to a repetitive song? No! Fantasyland is the biggest "intangible" that Disneyland has over its competitors.

Alice in Wonderland =D There's something about it that I loved as a kid and still do. It might have been the going outside up high part, I dunno. Peter Pan, Alice, and Mr. Toad all seem to attract people just because there's something different about them(mr. toad's is a bit more devilish )

And besides that, Alice has my 2 favorite little characters from the park =D The card painters and their little jingle duet =D

Re: Disneyland Wednesday - Let's talk about Fantasyland

Fantasyland is so Disney , its based on Disney movies and I love it. CaseyJr and storybook are just so refreshing and when people complain about ride capacity there is no way to avoid this for a greatly themed ride . I love Mr Toad and Peter Pan is awesom you cant help singing I can fly in you mind afterwards. The apple in front of Snow White is great and the detail of the Evil Queen looking out the window toward Peter Pan cant be beat. I have stood and watched the organ music at Dumbo for the little dumbo to appear out the door forever . And Hades is Hot in Mr Toad! Have you or a child of yours pulled out the sword in the stone with Merlin? Possibly the only addition I would make to fantasyland is a restraunt featuring the characters it would work so well here can you see the mad Hatter from Alice serving tea here ? Or Peter directing us to the second star from the right?
