Took me a minute to figure out which photo you were talking about. I'm assuming the one of Duffy standing in the exit hallway of Captain EO? I love that shot. Totally did it on impulse before they started to close the doors for the next performance.

I actually just meant in general having EO-esque backdrops really makes that costume pop.

And what about Becx's with the Dalmatian? And her fantastic road trip photos — aren't those great? You guys have the same Merida costume. I hadn't seen it til she posted it; I'm not sure it came to Japan.

And MikkiMausu's wonderful shots from Paris, and Clara's adorable stories! DCfan and Sandrita's great pics of all the bears and paddles together really touched my heart at how much our community has grown, and keeps growing as more people find the Dufflove. Oh and TDS Duffy's very talented artist — WOW! — aren't you just ing everyone's amazing contributions lately? Duffeteers rock!

Congrats in finding them , now that I own a pre-Duffy I can tell how exited you are, and you even got two! neat, hopefully one day I could find a white one.

Just a Duffy/ShellieMay photo that I want to share:

When the Cape Cod Carolers line was first announced and photos of the goods were released, one item made my heart fill with love. It was the Snow Duffy that made it all to cute, but there wasn't a companion piece for ShellieMay. So I took the liberty to sketch one just for her and here it is.

Aimster, for some reason your pics don't show (I'm at work and I think it doesn't allow Photo Bucket (thank goodness my pics are on Flickr!) but from the ones I saw on Facebook it looks like you had a fab time!

Aimster, your Duffy has more fun than I do! I'm glad you posted your photos with commentary…I'd looked at the Photobucket but they're so much better with your narration. Your Captain EO pictures are EPIC! 3 Chococats with Duffy…I'm about to die of cuteness. And your Halloween party looks incredible!

MikkiMausu, is that the same pumpkin outfit they sold for US Duffy? Somehow it doesn't look so bad. The Shellie May snow-bear is a great idea; I love the "S" detailing.

Becx, what a fun road trip! The Duffy in the mirror shot is great! I am glad your Duffy did not have much beer. Your Merida-Duffy is too cute!

So on to our trip to NYC and Canada! (finally!, can't believe it was over a month ago now )

We had a night time flight, usually when we go to FL the flights leave around 11am and 1pm meaning we have to get up super early to get there 4 hours before check in or stay over night. This time the flight to Newark was around 8pm so we had a nice lay-in and took our time setting off. We packed up the car, Duffy wanted to help but ended up packing himself!



The weather looked a bit grizzly (has been all summer, in fact we didn't have a summer!) but we were on our way!



Mid-journey refreshments! I love these milkshakes as they are really thick, almost like proper ice-cream milkshakes And Duffy likes them too!



We made it to the airport in loads of time! As we got there we saw some Paralympic teams all packed and ready to go home! I snapped a shot with some of the Japanese team in the background!



The Virgin Atlantic check in area had mood lighting, it was really relaxing unlike the usual stark white lighting!





Duffy was very much looking forward to the flight, he heard they had yummy desserts!



Another sneaky shot of the Japanese team members as they came towards the check in area, Duffy very much admired them!

We discovered that there was a Yo Sushi at the airport too so we had to stop there for dinner! Duffy tried some of my salad but didn't really like it! He did enjoy a nibble of the gyoza though



However he was saving himself for the moshi! Chocolate of course, I couldn't feed him fast enough



After we were done eating and buying some duty free we had a wander around. They had an Olympics store and I got two rubber duckies (I didn't take any pictures though).

Then once they announced the gate we walked over - it seemed likes miles!

Duffy wanted to see the plane and of course have his picture taken near it



Our plane was Surfer Girl



The plane was only about a third full so as soon as the seat belt lights went off my husband went to the two seats in front of me and Duffy got his own seat!

All settled in



He even got his own Feel Good kit!



Socks, a pen, tooth brush, toothpaste, ear plugs and a sleep mask



A quick nap before a second dinner!



Duffy checked his dessert was still on the menu! It was!



He had a Gu Choc Banoffee pot



Duffy! You have to put the spoon down to open it!



There you go!



After that he settled in and listened to some music





Once we landed and cleared customs we hopped into a taxi and were soon at the hotel. Our two friends, Krissy and Bob from Texas were there waiting! It was past midnight by then so we got straight into bed ready for a day of sight seeing in New York!

PS - sorry about the photos not showing earlier! I was working on this throughout the day and only noticed when I got home from work that it was showing links and the not actual photos!

Hi Aimster, just caught up and your pictures are fab, loved the story behind them too! I hope to one day take both Shellie May and McDuffy to meet some characters! I think our next holiday (in a few years time) will be to Japan so that will be perfect!
Until then we'll have to make do with local trips and short visits here in the UK!

So here are some more pictures from our first day of sight seeing! We were staying right near a mall, The Newport Center which was also where the train station was. Our friends from Florida were due to arrive mid morning, so we had a wander through the mall to see where we could get the train and also just to see what the area was like!

First thing Duffy spotted was the kiddie rides! And of course as he loves the sweet stuff he chose the ice cream van!



We also checked out where the Disney Store was, it wasn't open yet but Duffy wanted a picture of himself there anyway!

(right after taking this a security guard came over and told me I was not allowed to take photos of the store fronts not sure why but we headed out towards the train station as none of the stores were open yet)

When we came out we were right on the river with some awesome views of Manhatten! You can see the New World Trade Center building (this happened to also be Sept 11th )









Duffy was very excited to see a real live lighthouse! This one was called Lefrak Point Lighthouse and we were just so fortunate to have such a glorious day!







We also found a beach of sorts, not sure I'd want to sunbathe here!

After a lovely stroll we headed back into the mall for some shopping, of course we went to the Disney Store - I came away with a set of the Designer Villians lithographs, a Tangled Ever After Pascal (complete with a cute bow tie!) and some shopper bags that were on sale these bags are perfect for Duffys outfits!

After that we followed our noses to Yankee Candle as there are so many items we cannot get here in the UK or they are a lot more expensive. We stocked up on room spray and car fresheners as well as a new gel container for the bathroom.

We were feeling a bit peckish and I couldn't pass up the oppertunity to try a fast food grilled cheese! (something else we don't have in the UK)

Here is Duffy taking a sniff (he didn't fancy any when I told him it wasn't sweet and didn't have any peanut butter in it)

So I went to Downtown Disney (again) and bought a couple of new outfits for my Duffy and one piece of merchandise related to him.

Duffy is a little piggy! This is all the candy we have left from last Sunday's haul at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party. The bag initially weighed 2 or 3 pounds!


My mom sent Duffy a Detroit Tigers 2012 American League Champions shirt! We've been very disappointed in their World Series performance so far (if they lose again tonight it's all over).


My mom sent ME a gift card to Red Robin, so we went there for dinner Friday night.


Duffy REALLY wanted my bleu cheese burger, which as always was awesome. His nose was going a mile a minute. I let him have some of my fries though as they do bottomless fries at Red Robin (and they're the yummy fat steak fries).


After dinner, we went into the mall. I had a rewards thing from Build A Bear, so Duffy picked out a new shirt and some Ray-Ban style sunglasses (because we've misplaced his aviator shades). Yay for free stuff!


Shellie May likes how 80's New Wave Duffy's new shirt & shades make him look!


Oh and we got these cool free masks at BAB too!

Ha what a coincidence! My kid did a report and made a model of the Lefrak Pointe Lighthouse last year!
