Yes, they have a really great exhibit in Simi Valley. It was worth at least half the admission price to stare down Bucky face-to-face. Pretty sure it was big enough to eat me.
Aimster, even the fade marks on the leg match! How perfect!
I was so delighted to find that the plaid shirt I'd fallen in love with and bought for my "Dusty" 8" bear is a near-perfect match for a shirt my one-year-old nephew has!
Of course, I am not putting up photos of my one-year-old nephew without permission, so here is Dusty at a display at a doll show instead. But you can totally imagine that shirt as a grown-up-style shirt on a little kid.
My friend has that outfit for her 12" Duffy too. She rolls up the sleeves & pant legs so it fits him a little better.
I also have that same outfit for my 8" Duffy! He's wearing it right now! I wish we could all get together and have a meet up!
Just some Duffy photos I want to share:
Here he is showing off his new diapers that I bought for him. And like I said, he absolutely loves the Mickey & Friends designs on them.
Duffy and Shellie May are all packed and bundled up for their journey to suburban Chicago !
Suitcases in tow they are ready to go!
When they heard it might snow there on Sunday, they started back up the stairs and were going to stay home. However, I convinced them that they will be little celebrities and enjoy being introduced around.
Duffy will amuse himself with his etch-a-sketch, and Shellie May will listen to her pawpod.
They can always switch if they get bored. There are playlists on the pawpod for both of them.
Shellie May is elated to be traveling in a comfortable car seat instead of being stuffed in a shoe box like when she relocated to TN from OH.

So the first stop was Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, a suburb of about 80,000 people northwest of Chicago . It is like its own mini-city, with skyscrapers, lots of restaurants, and shopping. They even have a small municipal airport. Woodfield Mall was the largest mall in the country when it was built in 1971 and is still in the top 10. There is even a water tower for the mall. This is my old stomping grounds. For 12 years I worked in the area and walked the mall on my lunch hour, so I walked two laps (each lap is 1.1 miles) and started to shop.
Since Duffy is from Florida and Shellie May was living unloved in Ohio and never saw the light of day, they were fascinated with the remaining snowbanks. It is something they never saw before! They only made snow angels for a few minutes before getting chilled, though. Winter bears they are not!

We got to Build a Bear slightly before it opened. They got their pawsport stamped. We adopted Bearami and they posed with their loot. At the Disney store, where they now are carrying Duffy, Duffy and Shellie May were carried around in style (Disney basket).
My favorite store is H&M.
After that it was 4 nights at my sister’s place and visiting old buddies. They made friends with my sister's cat and with her bear, Rockgirl. Duffy was especially enamored with Rockgirl's leatherette jacket with the working zipper.
"You distract her with some bows, Shellie May, while I try to get the jacket. Oooo, you don't have anything on underneath? Sorry; I'll zip you back up!"
Upon my departure, I had to stop and fill up my cooler with Chicago style pizza. Jewel Osco, one of the large grocery/pharmacy chains, carries Gino’s East in their frozen section. The bears think it looks yummy! And since everything in the south related to tea is either sweet or extra sweet, Shellie May noticed the UNsweetened tea was on sale so I bought some of that, too.

I love the pictures, JillT! My Duffy and Shellie May have those same outfits! Minus the monster hat!
I had no idea about that pizza! Looks so good. (Also had no idea about that giant mall.) Great photos, JillT!
JillT, especially thank you for letting me know that there is a car seat for Duffy. We have the pink one, which is cute as anything, but I thought Duffy would be em"bear"assed to ride in a pink seat.
We went by BAB last night and saw the MLP behind the counter. We'll go next week and see if we can get the blue/yellow car seat.
