Do people mob you in the US? Whenever I set up photos, so many people come around. I don't feel comfortable telling them they can't take pictures and it's very flattering, but it takes a lot of time and it makes me feel shy. I'd love it if US park-goers are excited about even other guests' Duffys, but I'd be pleasantly surprised to hear it's actually the case.

No, that's not the issue. Sorry DuffyD.In fact, nobody really paid Li'l D any mind at all. I heard one "Oh, cute" from a lady walking by as I was taking a pic of him in Critter Country, and a Japanese girl pointed him out to her friends as I was carrying him through Downtown Disney. But other than that, nobody cared.
The annoying part came with having so many people coming and going that I just didn't have the ability or patience to compose good, fun shots like I can here at home. Everything was in a hurry so it was basically plop bear down, snap photo and get out of the way before the next mob of people came rushing through. I mean, I pretty much expected that, but it was still kind of annoying.Hopefully on my next trip I can have a little more fun with it.
Yeah that's how it is for me too when I take my bears places. I get a few onlookers (and ones who probably think I'm totally off my rocker), but I don't get mobbed. Sometimes I get a random person who comes up and ask if Duffy and Shellie May are "Build A Bears", which always irritates me, but I politely tell them no and explain who they are. Some people respond with, "Oh cool!" and others are "Oh I see." Whatever. I don't let them rain on my Duffy parade.
And my Duffy is home safe and sound from his trip up north for his foot surgery. Yay! He and Shellie May have been chattering non-stop since he came out of the box.

So, after a long drive Lil D finally made it to Disneyland. At first all the people and noise scared him and he didn't want to come out of the backpack. But after he peeped out for a while he decided that everything was ok and came out for pictures.

After I brought him back down, he told me he had a strange feeling like he was being watched while I was taking the pic. Hmmmmm.

Li'l D's first ride was also my first ride back in 1985. It's a Small World.
Found some of Pooh's hunny in Critter Country. Mmmm.
By nighttime he was really loosening up to the theme park experience. He let out his mischievous side by blatantly disregarding the safety rules on the teacups. Naughty bear.
There, that's more like it.
Not many pictures taken after that, but I can assure you he was still having the time of his life without the camera. His favorite rides were Small World, King Arthur's Carrousel, Disneyland Railroad, and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. He didn't like the roller coasters too much because he had to stay in the backpack and didn't know what was going on.
Before we left, we had to stop at Build a Bear to pick up some souvenirs. He tried them on during the car ride home.

So I was out running errands and had to go to Petsmart to get cat food. Happened by the pet Halloween costumes that were on sale 30% off and found... this:
It fits my 12" WDW 40th Anniversary Duffy perfectly (he's the only one I'll take his hoodie off because it's not sewn on). I couldn't pass it up. Now we're set for Cow Appreciation Day next year!

So I picked up a straw hat I'd bought for other purposes and wondered if it would fit Tiny Duffy. It fit all right. So, if I am lazy, do any of you Anime fans know who Tiny Duffy is dressing as for Halloween? (Hint: Blue shorts would be helpful, but my Tiny Duffy generally prefers to go pantless.Like Donald Duck!)

YEEEEES!!!! Duffy Luffy! LOL I haven't seen it in forever either but I still have a bit of merchandise around my house because it's so cute, and I happened to look up and saw Luffy's hat on a calendar page, with the straw hat in my hand...
