Sorry. about calling her your mom, m mind runs to fast for my own good. I'd love something similar to them at least, I'm wondering if the costumes will be available during Sweet Duffy, just to complete my collection of Be Magical normal sized Duffy merch, and then I'll talk to my mom about those outfits, as I do not want to pay the $84 to get two Christmas costumes that I'll only put on maybe three times a year.
I don't know about the "Be Magical!" costumes, but I know the HSC ones will NOT be available when the Sweet Duffy event comes around next year. Once an event at TDR is over, pretty much any leftover merchandise is pulled from the shelves. The 10th anniversary is going on until March or April of next year, so... maybe. DuffyD would have to confirm that though.
Alright, cause I don't really want to spend the $200 for a special trip.
The "Be Magical" costumes might be around while "Sweet Duffy" is going on. They theoretically are sold during the entire 10th anniversary. So, maybe you can get them on that trip.
As for somebody creating replica costumes at a cheaper price, it's difficult. Usually, a fan-created costume is actually more expensive than the official ones because everything is done by hand, and the fabrics are more expensive. Mass produced items are often cheaper than handmade stuff. Now, exporting things from Japan makes the price go up, of course, so yes, there is that factor.

Yea, knits are REALLY expensive hand made. I'm trying to get a custom made cardigan for my Duffy but it's costing a lot. Usually for regular clothes, they sell for $50-$70 for a nice hand knit sweater. It gets pricy. Now for mass produced stuff like HSC, I'm pretty sure they have the knits machine made and just sew the pieces together so it's a much easier, cheaper, and faster way of producing knits.
Poor unfortunate Souls.
There's a reason those handmade costumes go for a pretty penny (or yen) on Yahoo Auctions Japan. The people who make those outfits put a TON of time and effort into them. It probably takes them weeks (at least) to make things. I lose my patience just gluing rhinestones to Mickey ears for my own personal enjoyment.![]()
Happy birthday, Mickey and Minnie! Thanks for the pictures, MikkiMausu99.![]()
Wow! A long line for Duffy??? I was there this past Thursday 11/17. I went to the Duffy Pavilion twice and the line wasn't very long either time. (Everyone fit into the main walk way) However, Duffy was very playful and he took his time with each group. That was kinda fun though! Usually, because it's me and my mom, the characters kinda rush us through and spend more time with the little kids and their autograph books.

Shellie May had to get into the act with her similar boots, sherpa coat and her own stocking (which I got at Target)
Magnet Duffy is happy Magnet Shellie May is here!
And I found a little surprise too... a Duffy cookie!!
Many many thanks again to DuffyD! You are so awesome!![]()
Adorable, Aimster! I'm so glad you and Duffy got your things! Shellie May's outfit is PERFECT with Duffy's and that stocking is great! And Duffy is even cuter than he was on the website!
I am not letting Tiny Duffy see your pictures though...he may get a little jealous that his friend is not here yet. (I'm a lot closer to Japan than you are too! LOL)
Did I hear you say you got that from TARGET?!?!?My Target almost has none of that kind of stuff for bears. I hope they get some clothing stuff in soon. Very nice costumes! I hope Magnet Duffy and Magnet Shellie May have a new great time together.

She meant the stocking, the clothes she got from Build a Bear.
Poor unfortunate Souls.
Yes, I got the stocking with the "S" on it at Target. The clothes are from Build A Bear.
I was surprised the "zipper pull" on Duffy's sweater wasn't metal, but it's still a really cute outfit. I absolutely love the colors.
Oppsies... I accidentally didn't notice that.![]()
