Duffy size clothes at.... Universal?

I was at Universal Orlando last night to play the new mini golf at CityWalk (which was AWESOME, check Tuesday's Orlando Parkhopper column on MiceAge for photos of a bunch of us MCers playing the sci-fi course). Afterwards, I was wandering through CityWalk a bit and went into the Universal Studios Store to look around. Like at Busch Gardens, they have a "Build A Bear" type section where you can stuff your own plush animal and they had clothes for them to wear. They had t-shirts with the Universal Studios Orlando logo, Bart Simpson, Betty Boop, "Thing 2" from Cat in the Hat (sadly no "Thing 1") and a few others. I got Duffy a Cat in the Hat shirt that says "Here Comes Trouble - Universal Islands of Adventure". I wish they had Harry Potter themed shirts and I would TOTALLY got one. Or if they had "Thing 1" shirts to go with "Thing 2" I would have totally got those too (one for Duffy, one for Shellie).

It was a unexpected and pleasant surprise to find those, regardless. And the cashier at the store thought Duffy was Adorable (had him in my drawstring backpack along for the ride).

Oh yeah and the bag check security guy I went through liked Duffy too! It was cute how he talked to Duffy while he searched my bag.

Those sound like cute costumes. What's the name of the store? Was it a build a bear?

No. It was at the Universal Studios Store (that's the name of the store) at CityWalk. They had a little area at the front of the store where you can stuff your own plushie animal and get outfits for it (like Build A Bear). Busch Gardens has a similar thing (it seems to jump around to various shops in the park, depending on space).

That sounds really cute. I saw your picture of the shirt on Facebook, and I wish I lived close to Universal to see what they have for myself. I love the "here comes trouble" saying on the shirt. I would so get a Betty Boop shirt for ShellieMay!

I also saw the photo on facebook, too cute. I love the Here Comes Trouble. Thanks for the info on the shirts. Its nice that they fit Duffy.

I had to squish his big head a little to get it through the head hole of the shirt, but once on it fits good.

How many different kinds of outfits/shirts did they have? Was there a lot of choice, or just a limited selection?

They had the USO logo, Bart Simpson, Cat in the Hat, Thing 2, Betty Boop, I think a couple Marvel ones and a few outfits but I didn't look at those closely. I hope they do a Harry Potter one. I'd LOVE to get Duffy a Griffyndor shirt.

And the shirts were $6.97. Not bad and about the same as BAB.

I'll be back at Universal again later this year (a couple more times at least), so I'll keep checking and I'll take photos next time.
