"Cape Cod Carolers" Duffy's Tokyo Christmas 2012

For those who don't venture off in the Tokyo boards, here's some news for what Disney Sea has planned: (original thread for complete details)

There will also be approximately 30 different types of merchandise designed with Duffy and ShellieMay. The design concept this year for these items is "Cape Cod Carolers." Duffy and his friends are shown dressed in matching berets and capes as they sing Christmas carols.
Guests can enjoy desserts that come with a souvenir cup or plate designed with Duffy and ShellieMay dressed in matching beret and cape, as well as a popcorn bucket shaped like Duffy wearing a Santa hat, and more. (Special menus will be available from November 1.

Special desserts with Duffy and ShellieMay souvenir items will be available from November 5. The contents of the menus may change and some items will only be available while the supply lasts.)
Sounds kinda cute. Wonder if the popcorn bucket will be his whole body or head like the recently released one. Might actually be tempting!

Re: "Cape Cod Carolers" Duffy's Tokyo Christmas 2012

I like the sound of "Cape Cod Carolers," and I think it's great how Cape Cod is being heavily highlighted after Spring Voyage. I wonder if "Duffy and his friends" means we'll see these Halloween characters again? Or maybe it means the Mouses, Ducks, dogs and chipmunks. I kinda hope the latter.

I like Cape Cod as the DisneySEA "Toontown," where Duffy and Shellie are special for being the only "modern classic" characters. I like the designs of all the Trick-or-Treaters, and I'm tempted to like the idea of these backup characters further developing a distinctly different Japanese Duffy… But I'm not sure I want Duffy and Shellie isolated from Mickey, Minnie and the gang. I don't want Mouses on Duffy merchandise, but I want Mickey and the gang to live in Cape Cod.

I realize just now that the theme I'd have loved for Cape Cod Halloween Parade would have been many Duffys and Shellies marching together, all in different costumes with different expressions, re-establishing the "every Duffy is different and every Duffy is Duffy" vibe that has always been a major part of my draw to the character. That would have been awesome!

The costumes for Cape Cod Carolers sound classic, tasteful and stylish. The merchandise could be very interesting. High quality wood and brass handbells would be awesome! Or, now that Duffy and Shellie both have voices from Spring Voyage, a CD of them singing Christmas songs with Mickey and Minnie and friends! I can't wait for more info on this! Thanks, Danimated!^^

Less than a month to go!^^ New DisneyFAN releases 10/22, so the website will likely be updated a little sooner. For sure, within two weeks we should know much more about this year's Christmas events. I'm really excited after seeing the latest CCC costumes and blankets. I really hope Christmas is classic and romantic like those.

Nice to see those characters from Halloween back! Guess they are regulars now.

The Duffy Snowman pendant looks kinda cute. The popcorn bucket is just Duffy's head. There goes any interest I had...

Wow!!! This exceeded my expectations. I knew they really couldn't screw up carolers, but this is better than what I imagined. It's warm, and inviting. A very special Christmas theme. I love every single item. I won't buy everything, but it's all very well done.

Also, I got a couple things on my "dream" list! A music box for one thing!! And stockings, and ornaments, and...just so much neat stuff!

I don't even mind that the Christmas Wishes costumes are back for a third time. I know why, because those are the costumes the bears wear in the show, so it makes sense.

I just love the 17" bear stocking shoulder bag. Its so cute. And since it holds the bear in the bag like the duffle bag, the bears have a nice seat while walking around the parks.

I have been waiting for the light up Xmas Duffy. Too cute its a snowDuffy. It makes me wonder if they will do ShellieMay next year?

I think the costumes came out really cute, very festive for the holidays and different then other costumes.

The whole theme is wonderful. I do wish they had done another camera bag, as I love the one from Halloween. Its perfect for holding your camera, cell phone and tickets.

Re: "Cape Cod Carolers" Duffy's Tokyo Christmas 2012

There are some ADORABLE things! I really like Shellie May's outfit in particular because, while Christmasy, it seems like it could work for all of winter. And those BOOTS! Duffy's is a little harder for me to see as general-winter-appropriate, with the red and green elements. Maybe it's just me, though.

The Duffy cake is killing me. And the Snowduffy is just adorable! The memo pad is really neat too. I ADORE the gloves, but I already have multiple pairs of cute gloves that I almost never wear due to the climate and the fact that I'm not particularly outdoors-y. Darn it.

I don't know; I have a feeling that Sweet Duffy is going to have stuff that I love even more, so I might just save up for that instead of buying for Christmas. Decisions, decisions...

There are some nice items here and there but the collection doesn't hold a candle to last year's amazing merchandise.
