"My Spring Voyage" is the luggage decal scavenger hunt at the heart of this year's event. Not only do we FINALLY get Duffy Passports - can't wait to see the interior of these... Not only do we get all the travel sticker goodness I was hoping for last year... It's also a park-hunting interactive experience and I am so thrilled about what it is that I don't mind having to wait a year. Also, check out that price. Unbelievably cheap. Compare that with the MUCH smaller Sticker Set (¥1000) and one can only conclude that OLC's pricing is highly intentional -
so that everybody will do it.
And imagine! It still says "Who's Duffy?" on the site this year... Imagine that you don't know who Duffy is, you've never seen his merchandise all over the park before. You wanna know what the heck this is all about before you start getting angry at this huge push that obviously has no soul... And then you see one of three shows he's featured in. You discover a website with a narrative journey that is updated daily, showcasing not only this new bear character, but the majesty of Tokyo DisneySEA. You could do all that last year, when OLC took the plunge to make Duffy more "mainstream," in order to make money off of him, I'm sure, but I'm equally confident they also wanted to celebrate their - and his - success. They want him to be renowned, and they've earned it. And now this year, they offer not only shows and incredible merchandise, but an interactive trek in which you really do literally HAVE to "travel along with Duffy" to participate. And they even give you a prize, for free. I mean, is there even any kind of comparison to "kind of" make with the way "that other company" (which I also love, but it's kind of an abusive relationship and I'm the victim^^) does things? Spring Voyage is the same thing, folks, as the initial US rollout, or this new Disney Store rollout - it has roughly the same intention of making the public aware of Duffy. But while the US actions look like, "Here! Buy this! NOW!" the Oriental Land Company seems to be saying, "Look how fluffing AWESOME and FUN he is! Look at all the money and energy we're spending to make him so fluffing AWESOME and FUN!! You can come try it if you want to, and we both know you do! We're so sure you'll LOVE him that we take HUGE, shark-jumping risks and double Duff dare you not to throw money at us and BEG for MORE!"
Yeah, I'm

LOVING

Spring Voyage this year. And just one more note, before we get into this sticker set and park experience: It is significant that Spring Voyage is happening now. First begun at the close of TDS's 10th Anniversary milestone, heralding in the entire Resort's 30th Anniversary celebration...and likely also bookmarking the close of the 30th events in 2014. That's right. Spring Voyage bridges these HUGE celebrations for the entire Resort. It's a very big deal, and it sends a clear message about the Oriental Land Company's respect for and love of Duffy.
And even still, NO rollout to Disney Stores, none of the 17" plush and costumes even available in Bon Voyage. NOTHING in Disneyland. Integrity.
So, "My Spring Voyage."
You get:
- Vinyl Trunk Case
- Passport (fold-out Map)
- LUGGAGE DECAL TRAVEL STICKERS!!!

STEP 1:
Purchase "My Spring Voyage" at Galleria Disney or McDuck's Department Store.
STEP 2:
Use your Passport (Map) to go around the Ports of Tokyo DisneySEA and find the 7 park displays with Mickey's trunk.
STEP 3:
Add your Travel Sticker to your Trunk Case to match the sticker you see on Mickey's trunk in the displays.
GOAL:
After finding and placing all 7 Travel Stickers, you should have 3 large area stickers remaining on your sticker sheet. Redeem your completed, sticker-covered Trunk Case and show the correct unused 3 stickers to receive the Mickey Luggage Tag at Il Postino (Mediterranean Harbor), Tower of Terror Memorabilia (American Waterfront), or Agrabah Marketplace (Arabian Coast).
The Mickey Luggage Tag is a bit of a letdown. Besides being Mickey-centric,

that stark white lettering on basic black isn't much more charming than it was last year. Fortunately, the name card on the back is reversible; one side with the Mickey design shown on the website, the other side with a Duffy design.
We got Duffy- and Shellie-shaped (and from the looks of it, higher quality) luggage tags on the Duffel Bags last year, so there's that. And these Travel Stickers are incredible, timeless designs that I personally have been waiting a year for! The voyage itself, going around TDS to find the 7 trunks and place the stickers on the Trunk Case is definitely worth undertaking and will be fun, for sure.
BUT...an inspired, worthy, Duffy-centric goal makes for a more compelling, satisfying quest, so...
Spoiler

Duffy Post original goods that actually feel like part of the TDS event - and you get a souvenir from YOUR experience no one else will have, even in Tokyo! You get to "complete the quest" and have "YOUR Spring Voyage," too!^^ This is something I've always wanted to do, and I'm very excited about it! It's gonna be a little expensive, but I'm motivated to do it right! Still, it's the first time I've done anything like this, so wish me lots of LUCK!
(¥600+¥200 because I think lots of WLs want them and they're very time-consuming and spread out)
