So pleased for people who have their care packages! Yay!
Unfortunately mine was held up by customs so I have to wait for a letter to arrive telling me how much more money they want off me, pay, then wait again until it can be delivered or picked up! I am hoping this will be done by the 14th, but...
And I want my care package!! I know, I'm impatient!!! Can't help it, I'm too excited!
My box arrived yesterday, and everything was just perfect! I really should be used to the quality by now, but they still surprise me. The silicone mold is much more "sturdy" than I expected. I'm used to the "floppy" trays we have over here, so I was expecting something more like that. But, the Duffy mold is thick, and should stand up to wear. I need to start making chocolates now!
The dishes are so nice. I got the glass mug, and when I picked it up it was so light that I thought it was plastic at first. I was expecting something really heavy, but the mug is glass and very delicate. It's like the kind of thing you feel like breathing on it will break it. But, it's so nice and cute. I used it right away to have some of the caramel mocha.
Everything from Sweet Duffy is just such high quality and adorable. The costumes are well done, and the damask striped hats are a welcome detail. They could have just made simple white hats, but they made them classier with the striping. The only downside is that ShellieMay's apron can't be removed from her dress. Otherwise, it's great.
Thanks for the special surprise gift bag too, DuffyD, I loved it!
Here's another present! I'm not sure the translation is perfect, and I didn't convert from metric...plus I can see some places I might change something about the design. It has taken forever, though, and I just want to share! In order to even attempt an accurate translation, I had to read a lot about melting and tempering chocolate. Well, anyway, here's an English version of the website recipe:
Thanks DuffyD. Thats a lot of work to translate all that. Such cute graphics too. Whats fun is even if you didn't buy the molds, you can still make something from SD at home with the recipes.
Thank YOU, Janell! And I loved that about it, too; the way it's like making Sweet Duffy at home, whether you buy anything or not...even though it's a pretty straightforward, generic chocolate tempering recipe with actually a rather high heating point.
