I see similar ones that are sold in the tacky discount tourist trap shops. But they say "FLORIDA" underneath Mickey.

My DH is from Pakenham in the SE suburbs. And you? We loved Port Douglas. There was a lot to see and do there between the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. We saw a ton of wildlife and had some delicious seafood! The only downside was that we went during the rainy season, and I experienced the most and heaviest rain I had ever seen in my life during the first 3 days of our trip, so much so that our hotel offered to take us to the Cairns airport by boat if the road from Port Douglas gets closed by flooding. Thankfully that didn't actually happen.

I definitely want one of those duffy sized shirts now. I've seen the wooden post cards online they're so cute, I hope they still have them when I go. I like the matching Mickey and Minnie wooden cards too. Did they have the Dooney and Bourke Aulani bags when you went?
I'm pretty sure all the wooden post cards will be available when you go. I think they are very popular and well priced ($5 if I recall - and Koa wood souvenirs are not cheap generally). You'll love the Duffy shirt! And yes they did have the Dooney and Bourke Aulani bags there when I went. I think you will find them in the other newer gift store that is down the hall from Kalepa's. That store has more high-end merchandise (lots of nice clothing).

Do you know if many characters come out at the character breakfast?
I'm not sure. We are not character meal people so didn't choose to do the character breakfast. I will say that it is extremely popular and books up by guests, tourists, and even locals weeks in advance. In fact they started out offering the character breakfast 3-4 days a week when the resort first opened, then it was up to 6 days a week when we went in September, and now it is every day due to the demand! You did a good job getting your reservation already. Keep in mind that Aulani also has character meet n greets during the day in the Waikolohe Valley (entrance to the pool area just outside of Makahiki Restaurant where the character breakfast is) so you may even get to meet more characters then.

Ah ok, I am the opposite side of Melbourne, in Eltham.

Haha the airport by boat would have been an experience. The Daintree is one of my favourite places in Australia. Glad you enjoyed it, although pity about the rain. Australia is so much more stunning seen in sunlight.

Yay about the post cards, definitely looking forward to it. I wonder if they will phase Duffy out of the Disney Store in Waikiki, even though the island is popular with Japanese tourists who would probably love to pick up US Duffy Merch.

I had read online about the character breakfast booking out early, hence my early reservation. Thanks for the info about the meet and greet though, will definitely have to check it out if it's avaialble to non resort guests. If you recommend anything else to do on Oahu, please let me know I will be travelling with my whole family, including a 15 yo, 12 yo and 10yo niece and nephews - so we are definitely up for activity recommendations. I can't wait to get a Dole Whip at the Dole Plantation
