    Newbie :)

Hello! I have made a few posts in the last few days, but having a look over old posts I see that generally if someone is "new" around the Duffy forum they post an introduction so I thought I would too

I joined micechat about a year ago, for something that is rather frowned upon now, Club 33 reservations for our honeymoon. But frown or no frown, an extremely generous and fellow micechatter fulfilled our wish and we made a new friend in the process. Since then, I normally just read micechat news and posts to stay up to date, but recently I was looking for a way to stay up to date on the latest Duffy merchandise and news and came across this forum, which is an excellent way, thanks for keeping it so up to date!

I got my Duffy & ShellieMay (with their necklaces and original sailor and skirt/bow ensemble) 2 years ago at Spring Voyage and am a total sucker for their story. I enjoy collecting their costumes and 12 inch bears, but living in Australia makes this interest an expensive and rare one, although we do have BAB down here. Anyway, thought I'd say hello and thanks again for keeping such a great forum!

Welcome! It's really wonderful to have Duffy fans posting here from all over the world. We do try to keep on top of all the new Duffy goods, but sometimes it's hard especially as a lot of it isn't announced, like things from Aulani, DLP, and HKDL. I wonder if Shanghai Disneyland will have Duffy from the beginning?

Hello and thanks for the welcome I am going to Aulani in June - I am super excited to pick up the Duffy stuff they have there, provided they don't phase him out there like I read here they are doing in the Disney Stores?

I really, really hope Shanghai have Duffy from the beginning - I hope to go to Shanghai opening day (if they release tickets for that day like they did for HKD and I get them in time, that is; but my cousin lives in Shanghai so hoping to get them *fingers crossed*) I would be surprised if they didn't, he's such a hit over there! Do you think they'll ever introduce ShellieMay in the US parks?

Hi there! Welcome. That's awesome that you went to Club 33! That is my husband and I's ultimate Disney grail and I really hope we make it someday. Hope you enjoy and take part in all our Duffy/Shellie talk!

Thank you I hope you make it too, it was amazing and I realise how lucky we were and are forever indebted to this micechat member. He took us to 1901 too, and at the end of our dinner the waiter presented us with a bag of club 33 merchandise our generous host had arranged for us and also a special Mickey Mouse cake which wasn't on the menu, it was truly incredible. Good things come all through micechat!

and yes, I am definitely enjoying the duffy and shelliemay banter, I'm hanging for spring voyage and the ponchos to be released

I am REALLY hoping those ponchos are released at WDW sometime this week. I'll be at Epcot Saturday. I'd like to be able to get one with my AP discount before my pass expires next Monday.

Poop. Well if I end up having to get one at DTD later this year without a discount, so be it. Just nice to be able to save a few bucks when I can.

You're lucky to get a discount and be so close. I pay a shopper 20% on top of disney price to get anything I want and if they get a discount for being an AP they certainly don't tell me do they still make those ponchos for adults at WDW?

G'day, mate, and welcome! Where in Australia are you from? My DH is Aussie too, originally from Melbourne. We got married there and spent a week in Port Douglas, QLD, for our honeymoon.

It's so exciting that you will be visiting Aulani soon! We have been there twice now, the first time just a month after the resort opened and then again just this past September. It is a fabulous, gorgeous resort. You'll love it!

The main shop there, Kalepa's Store, carries a number of really nice Duffy items. There is a Duffy-sized aloha shirt (shirt only, not full outfit) that is made from remnants of the same high quality rayon fabric used to make human adult shirts also sold there. These are made by famous aloha wear company Tori Richard which can only be found on the Islands. Each Duffy shirt is different depending on how they pieced the fabric together so you should have fun picking out your favorite. We bought 2 Duffy shirts and 2 human shirts (available for men, women, and kids) so we can go to the parks with matching outfits with our Duffy and ShellieMay!

Other Duffy items include a koa wood postcard featuring Duffy (I think he is shown rowing an outrigger canoe in front of Aulani as a backdrop), a blue ladies T-shirt with Duffy on the front and Aulani, Hawaii text (which I also bought ), a men's T-shirt, and I think a keychain. There may have been others too that I am just not remembering.

Here are pics of the men's T-shirt and a stack of the Duffy aloha shirts. The very nice CM let me browse through their entire stock so I can find the perfect one for a friend!

Aloha! I am from Melbourne - where is your DH from? Did you like Port Douglas? I love it up there, my family used to holiday there when I was much younger.

Thanks for the brilliant post and photos - makes me SUPER excited to get there. We aren't actually staying at Aulani, due to the exchange rate it makes it VERY expensive for us, like $650 per night for the cheapest room. We have, however, booked to have the character breakfast there. That is awesome you got to pick which shirt you wanted, I was like that when I got one of the dooney and bourke bags it took me ages as I wanted the right character placement haha....I definitely want one of those duffy sized shirts now. I've seen the wooden post cards online they're so cute, I hope they still have them when I go. I like the matching Mickey and Minnie wooden cards too. Did they have the Dooney and Bourke Aulani bags when you went?

Do you know if many characters come out at the character breakfast?

    Thanks again!

The yellow ones? No they stopped making those years ago. The ones they sell now are clear and say generic "Disney Parks" on the back (so they can be sold at WDW or Disneyland). I hate this generic stuff. SO lame. A pox on your house, Jay Rasulo!

Hi mmommie yep I'll be at aulani in June I'm happy to pick you (or anyone else) up anything you want even if there is nothing I want from WDW it's no biggie since I'm going anyways just as long as you can transfer me the cash for the item and postage. I'm in Hawaii for 10 days with no major plans so won't be a bother to get stuff and then find a post office. We are staying at hilton waikiki village. But I'm sure I will think of something I want from WDW hehe. That would be great thank you

and aimster me me too I love the specialised stuff I wish they still did the yellow ponchos I remember them from when I was little. Maybe when they see how popular the duffy ones are they'll bring them back hehe

Anyone who wants aulani stuff - it would be better through iMessage or Facebook chat or something instant so I can connect to aulani' wifi and live message the items so you can pick whilst I'm there cos I will only go there once for the breakfast
