Movie And Tv Star Edie Adams Dies At 81

A TV, film star and singer from the 1950's, 60's and 70's passed away on Wednesday, October 15 at the age of 81.

She starred in many TV shows including playing the part of the Fairy Godmother in Rodgers and Hammersteins made for TV "Cinderella" 1957 (which is available on DVD). Many times an episode of The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour is repeated in which she and her great comedian husband Ernie Kovacks are the guests. It was filmed in 1960 and was the last show that Lucy and Desi did together because shortly after they divorced. On the TV special Finding Lucy (American Masters) Edie Adams recalls how difficult and sad the shooting of this episode was because of the tension between Lucy and Desi.

I remember Edie Adams and Ernie Kovacks from the 50's and thought they were great. She was also the Murel Cigars spokesman and would say:

"Why don't you pick one up and smoke it sometime?"

Aww... RIP Edie.. you lived through and were a part of a very golden age of entertainment. An age that those of us old enough to remember, miss very much.
