Harry has to face Snape.

Spoiler
Not only because he killed Dumbledore. I mean, that will be his motivation to find Snape, because Harry is "Dumbledore's man through and through," but because Snape is a path to Voldemort. I still believe, however, that Snape is on the good team, but evidence points both ways.

It'll be interesting to see.

I still believe that Harry is the last Horcrux for Voldemort. They will destroy all the others but in the end Harry will either kill himself or have one of his friends kill him.

Re: Harry get the Death Curse

what an incredibly grim and wretched outlook for the last story of Harry Potter.

Really- I know some of the comments were made in morbid humor but the idea that these books should end with murder or suicide is too dark and depressing and sick for me to contemplate as possible.

If Harry dies, what was the point? What were the sacrifices for? The deaths of Sirius and Dumbledore were in vain? Cedric? Everything that people put on the line for Harry and for their battle against Voldemort? Why battle evil at all? Because you can't convince me that she should kill him off in some noble sacrifice.

Sorry- but something is just so wrong with that-

For once I agree with Nemphy...

If Harry dies, is Rowling prepared to get hate mail?

Re: Harry get the Death Curse

I think the book will have some type of happy ending.
Although I believe JKR has introduced adult and real life topics into the books, I would find it hard to believe that good would not triumph over evil and that people will be rewarded for their good deeds.
That doesn't necessarily mean there will not be deaths or that Harry may not die, but, in the end the world will be a better place. Isn't that always the hoped for outcome of war?

Involving Hermione and Ron, I hope. He sure needs it.

Re: Harry get the Death Curse

I posted this topic but never weighed in, been rather busy but I will say this- if there is any shread of merit to this rumor I can see it ending in one of two ways.

First indeed Harry must die in order for Voldermort to perish and it will be at the hands of Longbottom, who ends up with Ginny, while Ron and Hermonine get together with Hermonie becoming the first mudblood to run Hogwarts and the book ends with the good of the many remembering the sacrafice of the few....

Second is that Harry is dead technically and in that moment Voldermort is rendered vulnerable killed by ___________ and then Harry becomes the first wizard to survive the death curse and returns to life becomings the long time teachers of the Defense Against the Dark Arts, with Ron going to take his dad's place and Hermonie as as the head of the school...

These are just thoughts from the mind of a children's writer who has yet to be truly surprised by any of the previous books.

Re: Harry get the Death Curse

I'm not convinced that Dumbledor is treuly dead. There was just something about his change of attitude and personality when Snape came in at the end that just wasn't right.

i would almost laugh if harry killed lord V only to be killed by Snape who then turns into the next lord V.

Re: Harry get the Death Curse

When they leave the 7th book they would only be 17 or 18- why would they go *poof* to being teachers and running Hogwarts?

Harry wants to be an auror-

Anywho- interesting idea- but I don't see that happening.
