Death Comes To "Harry Potter" Himself

"Harry Potter" author JK Rowling is apparently desperate to kill off the boy wizard after living with him for too long reports Bang Showbiz.

Actor Jim Dale, the voice of Harry in the US audio books, says Rowling recently spoke with him, and confirmed "Book seven is the [absolute] final one. She's lived with Harry Potter so long she really wants to kill him off".

When asked whether the young hero will reach adulthood, Rowling recently told press: "You have to wait and see whether he survives to be a grown-up".

Even actor Daniel Radcliffe is opening to the idea, telling press during the fourth film's promotions that "I do maintain there is a possibility he could be killed in the final book".

I have always thought that since Voldemort and Harry are so intertwined that in order for Voldemort to die, then Harry must also die. I am assuming that Harry will die in a noble way to save his loved ones..

I think Harry should die in the sam way as his parents...let voldemort win...let evil Beat good this time round...and also when harry dies...Vold. could die....there would be the plot twist....and I do remember reading in a J.K. interview the last word in the Harry potter series is scar....

I hope that we don't have to wait forever. I'm guessing it will be based on what JKR has going on in her life.
I can certainly understand her desire to move on. It's been a big part of her life, I'm sure she doesn't want it to be the only part of her life.

I've always thought Harry will face a similar face as Frodo. He may live, but not be left untouched and will not be able to live a normal remainder of his life. He will have seen/been touched by too much evil to go back!

I'm leaning towards this as well. They will cancel each other out of existence somehow. Then Harry can be a new ghost at Hogwarts!

That is true. Although JK has yet to begin the book (she will start it next year), she has completed the last chapter (although she said some of it will probably change by the time it is published). The last word currently is 'scar', but again, she said that may very well change. For other statements made by JK, look here.

I think that the ending to book seven could create world peace and offer drug addicts a cheap and safe alternative and it still would piss everyone off. If J.K wasn't the richest being in the universe I'd feel sorry for her.

I'll believe it when I see it. These rumors have been going around for a while now. Nothing new here.

I'm not sure we won't see more rumors surrounding the last book. I'm sure JKR was not happy that the last book leaked prior to release. I don't think the rumors will come from her - just more folks trying to cash in on spoiling the end before folks can read the end.
