Opinions on Disney Channel Programming?

(Edit: I know this is close to the Vault Disney Channel thread, but a bit more generalized.)

Spinning off the topic of the plague of DC Original Movies... Let's talk about what we'd like to see on the DC if we were in charge!

-What do you think of DC programming and its selection of shows and movies?
-What programming block(s) (ie - Disney Afternoon, Hour of Power, Vault Disney, etc) are/were your favorite?
-What shows are your favorite; which old shows do you miss the most?
-What would you change?

...

I would like to see a little less of the Movie Surfers and pop star propaganda (POPaganda?) DC always plays the same blurbs over and over. Old-fashioned cartoons or parodies of them, like House of Mouse, offer lots of room for creatively honoring and reinventing the old. I also miss Vault Disney... I saw for the irst time a lot of the older, more obscure movies like Moonspinners and Summer Magic... and loved them.

Perhaps there is a way to condense TD and DC together, creating a channel that caters only to the toddler to teen set? Say we put all of the Playhouse Disney together with the pree-teen demographic series' and movies, then create a brand new station: "Classic Disney." CD would be less juvenile but maintain programming that the entire family can enjoy. This channel would be more like the old DC...It could feature the older cartoons, the older movies, old premieres and events (like the opening of POTC and HM), snippets from the Treasury, and new behind the scenes programs on the parks - without feeling dumbed down.

By doing this, Disney Entertainment would gain back the older set which it has totally ignored in the past 10 years. Might I add that the older demographic gets a bigger paycheck than the toddlers and the pre-teens? Behind the scenes park programs would definately generate valuable interest in park tourism. If they were really smart, they could even go so far as to create a show based on kids experiencing fun and intrigue on Disney Cruiseline! It would also be much more effective and concentrated than the park specials which are shown about once a month on the Travel Channel.

Your thoughts and opinions?

i wish DC would go back to the way it was when i was growing up. all the classic toons mixed with the early 90's toons like duck tales and rescue rangers. then all the classic movies were great too. basically now DC is a decroded piece of crap. all hillary duff and lindsey lohan promo junk. i have good memories of waking up early in the disneyland hotel and watching all the classic cartoons as a little kid. twas a fun time. lanelan...like a sheeps wool?

I dont think you even have to create a new channel..just scrap the ENTIRE line up on The DC and get it back to the line up that you already mentioned. Right now the ENTIRE programming is a peice of CRAP !!
