From what I understand from someone who worked on the film. When the Pearl first arrived in San Pedro, some of the security did let some fans inside to take pics which they immediately posted on the web. And that security company was immediately fired for doing so. I was told that's why they are not "fan friendly" right now. Someone was given a once-in-a-life time chance and blew it for everyone else by not doing what they were asked. (Not posting those original pics).

(Just so people don't freak..all the photos here are fine. These other people were just let into areas that were "off limits" ) BTW There are some absolutely breathtaking pics here now. Thanks!

I went down there monday and I had not luck. Plus I went down there at night. Stuid me shoud've though YOU CAN'T SEE IT AT NIGHT IT'S BLACK!!! But Oh well. So I went down there today and I got to see it from far away. Does anyone know how I can get close enough to get a good look at it??? By the time I figured out I could get a better look at it from where I was at I tried to take a pic and it was getting dark so I didn't get any pics.

Hi, I've been a lurker thus far, but decided to finally register so that i could join in this convo. I've been checking in on this thread daily. I've also been driving down to San Pedro and Redondo almost daily, all this week, jst to check in on the Black Pearl, to make sure it's still there and that possibly, filming will resume this . It is an hour and half each way and it's exhausting, but I am determined to catch a glimpse of Johnny!! I am begging anyone who lives in that area to keep me updated as i can't get there often enough, nor stay long enough. If anyone spots filming, the ship moving, crew, etc...please let me know. If you're willing, email me and I'll give you my cell # so you can text/call me if you see anything happening, that way I can drive down there.
A security guard at San Pedro tried to tell my boys that filming is done and they are now in a sound stage, but I do not think that they are finished. While driving yesterday near San Pedro, I found two secret base camps(besides the "extras" one by the ship) off the 110 fwy. One was for "stand ins", and full of the white tents and tables. The other was on a dead end street, countless trucks filled with equipment and crew members walking around, guarded by local police...I'm staying hopeful that this means filming will continue!

Seriously though, I have reason to believe filming IS done for the time being. My source is under the impression that some off shore scenes will be filmed again later this year (November???), but I absolutely cannot confirm this.

The Pearl will be out in the waters sailing this Sunday, BUT not with anyone "important" on board.

I will certainly pass on any further information I get as long as I can confirm it.

Thanks for the info. When do you think it will set sail, morning or evening? I'd love to get pics of it in its full glory with masts and flags hoisted! It looked plain when we saw it, but I suppose they take down the sails and flags when it's not in use, so that they don't become tattered, faded and damaged by the elements.

It could be that Principal filming has ended there and has moved to the sound stages. That the Second Unit is what is filming right now. I know when we went to see her first part of Aug, at that time there was only three weeks total of Principal filming left. But apparently that shoot has been extended.

Just got back from San Pedro. The Black Pearl is still docked there. Took a boat tour and the Captain said that there was filming on the Ship last night.
