Do you love harry potter... what do you think of the books... What do you think will happen in the next book.....

I love the saga... (isn't the saga extended by one book now... 8 instead of 7....)

I have no idea what will happen in the next book.... but cannot wait for it...( too bad i wont be home when it comes out and my mom already got a copy pre-ordered off of amazin..)

i though Harry was a bit of a d**k in the last book. i liked the movie for number 3 though. i think book 4 was my favorite. I can't wait to see it on film, but i don't like that they are cutting out the subplots to get it into a short enough movie for the average movie watcher. as far as i know, there are still only going to be 7 books.

Harry is a teenager in book five, and acting like most teens his age do. I thought he was very annoying, until it occured to me that he was supposed to be annoying, and dramatic, and whiny, and all those other things 15 year old kids can be. He has to grow and mature just like all the others- providing, of course, he lives long enough......

Put me on the list of Potter fans! I got into the books when they were only on book three. I actually started reading them on one of my Florida vacations. I never thought I would like them because I really don't like those fantasy kind of stories (I have no interest in Lord of the Rings, etc) but the characters and the stories and the details are just like WOAH!

The movies are OK... I much prefer the books, though. I can't wait till the Half Blood Prince comes out... I really have no idea what's going to happen... but if anyone finds out make sure to not tell me because I hate being spoiled!

Looking forward to the next book!

I have a feeling that Neville will end up being the Half Blood Prince, but you never know.

I'm still waiting for Ron to go bad or something.

I enjoy the series. Can't wait for the next book to come out. It's crazy that people are already pre ordering it...

Actually, when I get some dough, I'm going to pre-order it as well. Some folks are planning on hitting the midnight line at the Block, and I want to make sure I get my book. Pre-ordering is the way to do it, IMHO.

Pre-ordering rocks... and then standing in the midnight line to get your copy isn't too shabby either! Morrigoon... if you plan at being at DL for the 50th... then I think I'll be seeing you the way I first met you, with a Harry Potter book in your hand!

Come to think of it... I'll have one too!

Update for Goblet of Fire

Quote:
Daniel Radcliffe, the 15-year-old who plays Harry Potter, told USA Today he will definitely be back as Harry in the fifth movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", which starts filming next year. Radcliffe says of his role in "Goblet of Fire", the upcoming fourth film - "Harry is more of a teenager in this film, and he's more vulnerable to emotions."
Amusing side note- last week on Jake in Progress they did a parody of the progress and tone of the Harry Potter films in a scene where a Hermonie spoof makes sexual advances on a would be Harry Potter...turns out the scandalous girl who played the Hermonie spoof is my 15 yr old next door neighbor---creepy!

I have really enjoyed the books more than the movies, but the movies are fun. I can’t wait until the next book.

I have one main problem with the last three books- and that is her need to cram HUGE amounts of dialogue and revelation into the end of the books.

PoA- the Shrieking Shack chapters- went on FOREVER. Then the movie came along and made it too short instead. But all the reveals and back history was painful to read through- and this is coming from someone who LOVES the books and looks up to Rowling very much.

GoF- the monloguing by Voldemort. GAH! Again- HUGE chapter filled with a synopsis of his life (or half life) for the past 13 years. It was a data dump! Hard to get through again.

OoTP- same problem- only this time it was the revelations by Dumbledore. Now I KNOW the series is wrapping up and it is time to learn more- but it's like we go through the book with interesting events and dialogue and slow meaningful reveals and lately she just dumps info on us in large inedible chunks at the end of the last three books.

It's frustrating- and implies to me that this series of books should have been longer, with shorter books and more time to reveal mysteries and portents as we go along.

Has anyone else felt this way?

As for getting the new book- I will be at a midnight event to pick mine up- because even though I know I can get it the next day, it is just fun to hang out with other Potter fans and get it as soon as they bring it out. I will then be reading it during any break I have in my show schedule at faire the next day!

LOVE my Harry Potter- incredible escapism.
