Hell's Kitchen

:devil:There's a new show, I forget what channel, called "Hell's Kitchen" with Gordon Ramsey. In case you didn't know, he is widely proclaimed as the best chef in England 9 years running, and his attitude in the kicthen makes Simon Cowell look like a girl scout (no offsense to girl scouts). In the show, 12 contestants compete to win their own resteraunt. I just saw the frist episode and I loved it. Anyone else see it?

Yes, I love Gordon Ramsay!! We've were already fans of his British TV show, "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares". I wasn't surprised to see that Americans picked up on it by making an American version, "Hell's Kitchen". Personally, I like the original show "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" much better. I'm sure you can catch it on BBC.

Ugh. I'm soooo tired of these "reality" shows, I can't even express it. Isn't life real enough? Do so many people not have lives, that they have to live vicariously through others? Does no one notice that these shows are about as "real" as the tooth fairy, easter bunny, or professional wrestling? If I want to see someone ranting and berating others all the time, I'll go to boot camp. Enough is enough, already.

Well, I for one still enjoy most of reality TV.

Was it on last night??? I planned on watching the show and was quite excited about it! Did I miss the first epsiode? I was really looking forward to this one. That and the Martha Stewart Apprentice one should be interesting.

I had planned on watching it, but I am enjoying my reality TV hiatus.

No, you have it all wrong. Ramsay has recently done two British shows, Hells Kitchen on ITV1 and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares on Channel 4.

Hells Kitchen involved 12 celebrities battling out to be the winner of the show, no prize or anything. But the basic format was obviously picked up by Fox and the celebrities were substituted for normal people.

A second British series of Hells Kitchen did not involve Ramsay, and this time had normal people and TWO chefs, Jean-Christophe Novelli and Gary Rhodes. I prefer Ramsay though.

I caught the first two episodes last week, and am currently watching the third episode, this guy makes simon cowell look like a fluffy bunny rabbit. Now I realize that food service and music are two totally different industries and no one is going to get physically ill from a performer that cannot sing, but the more I watch, the more this reminds me of boot camp.....

I tried to watch this show but it felt so, so fake. Ramsey, in one episode, tells a restaurant patron to F#@$ off after she complains about the slow service. I don't believe for one min. that she was a real customer. I bet all of those customers are actors who are told what to say, including Ramsey.

And it also made me sick to see Ramsey dump $$$$ worth of fillet mignon in the trash because some wannabe chef overcooked it by 10 seconds. With so many starving people in the world, it just looked really bad.

(getting down off my soapbox now).
