Favorite Classic Disney Live Action Comedey

What are your favorite Disney live action comedies pre 1980, and what are your favorite scenes?

I have Three

The Basketball Scene from the Absent Minded Professor 1961

The Flubberolium Commercial from Son of Flubber 1963

And the Car Chase from the original Freaky Friday 1977

Yes - "The Parent Trap!" - always makes me laugh. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the scene in the dance where Susan and Sharon have caused the dance to go awry and Miss Inch takes a cake in her hands and raises it up and it gets stuck on a beak of totem poll and she yells out "I have a cake in my hands! Now stop it humans!" Then she pulls the plate down and it's not there and she looks up and it comes crashing down on her face! TOTAL TOTAL COMEDY!

The Swiss Family Robinson - I love the scene where they are fighting the pirates as they try to make their way up the hill to the Robinson Family and Roberta - the coconut bombs, the logs that trample the pirates and the blasting of the rocks that clunk them on the head - HYSTERICAL stuff.

Love it....and there are many more, but off hand, these come to mind.

I love both of those too, another scene I love is also in the Absent Minded prof, when Alonzo Hawk is tricked into putting on Flubberiezed Shoes and starts bouncing higher and higher causing a public spectacle in the little suburbian neighborhood. I love the Camera Angles when he hops up and down, very cleaver and ahead of its time.

Re: Favorite Classic Disney Live Action Comedey

The Absent-Minded Professor is great - really well written and acted and features absurd visual gags that still entertain.

Swiss Family Robinson - though not really a comedy - - does make me laugh aloud.

The Love Bug still has a lot of charm (only the first one). Same for That Darn Cat! and The Shaggy Dog.

Some of the destructive animal sequeneces of the 60's are really funny - - especially the dogs and seal loose in the supermarket scene in Sammy, the Way-Out Seal (a forgotten gem that's much funnier than some of the more famous films - same director as the Leave it to Beaver series).

Blackbeard's Ghost and The Gnome-Mobile were very funny when I was a kid, but those haven't aged as well somehow.

But none of these are as consistently funny and delightful as The Parent Trap! Still fresh as ever. David Swift was a great writer/director (also Pollyanna) - - too bad he didn't do more.

Any of the films with Don Knotts or Tim Conway in them. Those two guys are hilarious !!
