Black Pearl back in San Pedro?

I have just recieved word the Black Pearl is back in San Pedro Ca. arriving from her trip to Mexico where she has been docked for the past few months.. not sure how long she will stay.. but she is looking pretty good ! thought i would put it out there in case anyone wanted to take a drive out to see her.

** I didnt see this posted anywhere on MicChat.. so move it or delete it if this is in the wrong spot or repeated info !

Sailed past her docked at San Pedro 3 days ago, and saw her from a distance just yesterday (we've got a client in "next door" Long Beach).

Shows you what I know...I never knew she left!

But she's there for sure now. She's berthed approximately here:

Best land viewing might be from Cabrillo Beach Park, down the jetty from the Bath House (bring your binoculars). You can't really approach or get near the ship dockside (without some sort of permission) because it's behind a gated area.

I think the BP is more southeast where the pier is located right where the US Navy ship is sitting...that general area (this is an old picture..there hasn't been a US Navy ship in San Pedro for almost 10 years!!). The current place would have her on the rocks and probably turn her into a reef.

Anybody know if they tours in San Pedro will have permission to motor close up to her for pictures? In the past they did.

pics i have seen are all from behind a fence pretty far off...

i cant even tell you if it is at the Jetty or not.

You are correct! I just left her not 30 minutes ago. It's just a tad down farther, on the point. I've corrected the map to reflect her true position:

I just saw a Navy destroyer last week...not at that pier, but a channel or two over. At that very spot where Black Pearl is...about a month or two ago, a Navy nuclear sub pulled up there to much fanfare and fire boat water canon salutes and all.

I can answer that with a fresh affirmative as of just not even an hour ago. I saw whatever that white double decker harbor tour boat that goes out of Ports Of Call I think...swing by the Pearl right up next to her...stop for awhile...and then pull a U-Turn to continue on with her tour. I took a photo from Cabrillo Beach Park with my cell phone about a hour ago. You can just make out the Pearl in the center of the photo and the white ship you see is that very tour boat:

I know in the photo it looks like you're really far away, but you can see it pretty well in person. But binoculars or a zoon lens on your camera would be preferable. Of course the harbor boat tour would get you up close and personal.

(They're filming CSI Miami here by the lifeguard stand right now. Huge crew and tons of equipment. Thought it was a feature film at first. Last week in this same spot they were filming NUMBERS)

I got the call from a friend yesterday (he was working at the steel dock next to the Pearl), I was thinking it was an April Fools joke, but decided to take a 5 minute drive down there. Here are the pics....
