AMPAS is hosting an evening called The Animated Performance: Art Meets Technology on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 7:30pm in the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre.

From the website: "The Academy’s Science and Technology Council invites you to join us for a thought-provoking presentation dedicated to the science and technology behind the art of animation. This program will illuminate the process of the animator being, thinking and creating as a performer but with the unique condition of performing through the use of technology."

Special guests include Brad Bird ("The Incredibles"), "Aladdin" Genie animator Eric Goldberg and "Lord of the Rings" Gollum animators Richie Baneham and Steve Hornby.

Tickets are $5 and are available for purchase starting July 1.

For more information, go to the official website: http://www.oscars.org/events/animate...nce/index.html.

Thanks.
