I had an interesting thing happen to me and wondered if anyone else had something like this happen.

I booked my trip through a travel agent for the Disneyland Hotel. I was there while he was secured the reservation for the DLH. Later on, a few weeks, he called me to tell me there was some sort of mix up and they didn't have me at the DLH but at Paradise Pier because of some promotion that automatically placed my reservation there. He said to put me back at the DLH I would have to pay more, which I didn't want to do, so I told him I would take the PP BUT I wanted to have a park view. I assumed he called them to straighten that out, he called me back and said they now had me down for the PP in a room viewing the DCA park. I got my tickets and all that and what do you know, they have me down for the PP in a standard room!! At this point I am not mad or anything, but I just don't get what the deal is? I called the hotel and basically they told me that I could pay the difference to upgrade or call my travel agent. I spoke to my travel agent and he said he definately told them a park view room, and had noted it and had it signed by a supervisor to make sure he did. I called the hotel again and they still insisted if I wanted a park view room I had to pay more because I have a really good rate already. That comment sort of irratated me because I certainly did not book an economy trip! I paid for a week at the hotel, the week meal plan and $395 for the in room celebration!

I was just wondering if I had some sort of freak experience that never generally happens, or if this happens often?

Each Christmas (for years now) the Disney Studio (in Burbank) opens its grounds to the public, specifically for shopping and lunch. They have access to the buena vista entrance, the company store (both sides), one cafeteria, and a small portion of the grounds.

OK, does anyone know what day the studio will be open this December? Usually it's an early Saturday in the month. Or will Disney not do it this year due to the public showings of Frog?

Thanks.

Hello, it's been of my interest to travel to California for a long time, but considering my age, saving for a vacation is not easy.

I haven't done much research yet, so I wanted to ask people here what the best suggestions might be (as you all might know better than a vacation website! ;)).

Currently I have $210, which is definitly nowhere near enough...

Hypothetically, I wouldn't mind taking Plane or Train (whichevers cheaper!), but Amtraks site didn't list ticket prices last time I checked...

The visit would be for about 2-3 days, depending on what I can afford, and would only be me and a parent going.
(probably have to assume rent cars, hotels going for $100+ a night, food, and more...)

Hotel HELP!

Long time lurker, first time poster!

Long time lurker, first time poster!

So my little family (my wife, myself, and my 14 month old) are taking a mini-vacation and plan on going to Disneyland for a few days (my wife is 26 and has never been, also my sons first trip and we only live 3 hours away!). Anyway, we're looking for a decent hotel for two to three nights. We're for sure staying the 18th, and 19th, but we would like to come in the afternoon of the 17th to hang out, have dinner in Downtown Disney and all that.

So, we're hoping to stay as close to the park as possible. We walk a lot, so making the trek should be no problem. Although if the hotel has a shuttle service, it might be nice the second day of the park trip (not really interested in ART with an infant, and all of his stuff).

Other than that we just basically want something generally clean and quiet (quiet for others too since our little one can go ballistic at any given time, haha). A microwave would be nice (for night time bottle) but it isn't a necessity.

I'd like to keep it as affordable as possible as the more we save the more we spend in the park (plus my wife wants to meet up with my Mom and go to the Fashion District since she has a wholesaler license), plus we might make a few more stops along our way home.

Anyone have any affordable ideas or suggestions?

Right now the Anabella has a 3rd night free special, and they have a couple rooms pretty cheap and we can stay for 3 nights for under $200, but the 3 nights of parking ($33 total), internet (at least one night) etcetc kind of adds up, so I'm trying to find the best deal. Also check the affiliate Hojo, but if we stay there we can only stay two nights due to price.

Thanks for the help in advance!

This March my sisters and a couple of friends are hoping to go to Disneyland for spring break. This is the first time I haven't had my dad to rely on for travel planning and stuff. What do I need to know to help make this trip affordable for 3-5 college students while not making it totally miserable?

Each of us can budget about $900, I think.
