He's still in talks to star in the third installation, just don't expect High School Musical star Corbin Bleu at the premiere.

"I've never been to a High School Musical premiere – ever," Bleu confessed. "The first one I was working on Jump In (A Disney Channel movie). I couldn't go to the DVD premiere. I was on tour for the [HSM2] Disneyland premiere, I couldn't go to London for the International premiere. I'm cursed."

Cursed, but successful, the 18-year-old confirmed to PEOPLE at the Parapluie, Inc., Emmy Gift Lounge that he and his costars are indeed still in negotiations for High School Musical 3.

"Truthfully as long as it's a good script and as long as everybody is being paid fairly, I would be more than happy to go and have one last hurrah," Bleu said.

Money isn't an issue in his off time. Bleu told PEOPLE his family won't allow success to go to his mop-haired head and his next gig is "babysitting for my sisters (Phoenix, 6, and Jag, 4)."

"When I'm home, I'm just Corbin," says Bleu, who recently wrapped a 44-city live summer concert tour promoting his solo CD, Another Side. On Monday, Bleu begins filming on Hannah Montana, where he'll guest star for one episode.

Here's hoping he stays well grounded in his carreer.

That said, he looks really distinguished and dignified with facial hair.

That should help immensely with his bid to become our next President.

Re: Corbin Bleu on the 'HSM' curse & 'Hannah Montana'

I like this kid. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Actually, most of the HSM kids do.

That was funny. Seriously...

Corbin's a good kid. Not my favorite or least favorite of the HSM kids. But good role model.

I's vote for him for president. He can't be any worse than any of the people we have running right now.

Re: Corbin Bleu on the 'HSM' curse & 'Hannah Montana'

There seems to be a misconception on this kid's part concerning the meaning of a curse. If he got sick whenever there was a premiere, that's a curse. A crowded work schedule is no a 'curse'.

Bleu leaving Disney for 'Metal'

'High School' actor to star in motocross film

Bleu

By Marc Graser
Variety
October 18, 2007

Quote:
"High School Musical" co-star Corbin Bleu is leaving the Disney Channel fold to topline "Metal Birding," a motocross actioner for Rigel Entertainment.

Bleu will portray a motocross racer who dreams of winning the Amateur National Championships, but must juggle his passion for the sport while struggling to support his family.

Jeff Woolnough ("Taken," "Battlestar Galactica") helms from a script by Jeffrey Nicholson and Joshua Leibner.

Rigel is producing in association with Up North Entertainment. Executive producers include Rigel's John F.S. Laing, David Doerksen and Jim O'Grady of Waterfront Pictures and Michael Emanuel of Canal Street Films. Randy James of James/Levy Management, Blueman Inc.'s David Reivers, and Donald Paul Pemrick and Dean E. Fronk of Pemrick/Fronk Casting also are exec producing the project.

Pic starts lensing in November in Vancouver.

Rigel has previously produced Stuart Gordon's "Stuck," "Blonde and Blonder" and "When a Man Falls in the Forest." Once "Birding" is complete, Bleu will likely return to co-star in the third installment of the "High School Musical" franchise, which Disney will release theatrically next year.

In January, he starred in "Jump In!" a Disney Channel pic that bowed to strong ratings.

Re: Corbin Bleu on the 'HSM' curse & 'Hannah Montana'

Hmm, first Shia laBuff (sp?) and now Corbin Bleu.... Interesting. Disney, apparently, can't keep their Tech-Gen Mouseketeers very long.

Re: Corbin Bleu on the 'HSM' curse & 'Hannah Montana'

This is actually a case of squeezing in a feature before production begins on 'HSM3'. Not unlike co-star Ashley Tisdale currently filming 'Picture This':
http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...ashley+tisdale
And Zac Efron in '17' for New Line Cinema by year's end.

After the end of the 'Even Stevens' series in 2003 Shia LaBeouf starred in Walt Disney Pictures' 'The Greatest Game Ever Played' directed by actor Bill Paxton in 2005. The based-on-a-true-story film unfortunately did not find an audience.

DreamWorks/Paramount to their credit has found other ways to utilize the very talented LaBeouf in 'Disturbia', 'Transformers', 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' and the upcoming 'Eagle Eye'.
