How do you post pictures in a thread?

Flickr's good, sure. What I like to do is this.

1. Go to the photo's page on Flickr.
2. Go to ALL SIZES and pick the size you want to show up in the thread - medium is usually good.
3. Right-click the image and hit "Copy Image Location." (This varies from browser to browser; I'm using Firefox, and you should, too.

)
4. Go to your post and enter:

HTML Code:

[img]URL[/img]

(Paste the image location instead of "URL.")

5. If you want, go to the largest image available on Flickr, and copy the URL in the address bar of your browser.
7. Then modify the part of your post so it looks like this:

HTML Code:

[url=URL2][img]URL[/img][/url]

URL2 is the pasted address, URL is the same as before, and the lowercase url should just be typed in exactly like that.

If you're having trouble, though, it's easier to just use ImageShack or PhotoBucket. They give you the code really easily.

hey guys,

so do you or do you not need to be a gold member to post pics?

i've read a few conflicting posts.

the posting rules at the bottom of my page says 'you may not post attachments'.

will this change if i go gold?

No, you can't upload images from your computer.

You have to host them on a site like photobucket.

Even though its not listed in our FAQ's, I believe that in order to use the attachment feature you do have to be a Gold member. However to post pictures anyone can do this, you just have to have the images stored on a image hosting site like photobucket, image shack, flikr etc or any site that allows linking of pictures. (There are already a couple of threads in this forum about how to do that)

However, if you hotlink to an image from a site that does not allow it, or you link to an image you don't have permission to link to, we will remove that link. For info on hotlinking:

As for posting pics on Facebook, MySpace as far as I know you just need the pics hosted somewhere and you use the HTML code, as opposed to the IMG code to post pics here.
