With all of the site problems, I know that this has been a difficult week for all of you. However, the site has now been fully restored and is on its third and final hosting company of the week.
- Posts HAVE been lost. We had to restore the site from a previous backup, so all posts made this morning, before the forums were locked, were lost.
- Features have been restored. Rolling to a previous backup allowed us to get the site up much more quickly. Therefore, our various forum modifications have been restored. You can now click on new posts, arrows, etc without the error messages.
- Testing - If you find any errors with the site, please clear the Cache, Cookies, and History on your browser and try again. If you still have an error, please report it here.
It has been a long and frustrating week for all of us. Monorail Man has put in endless hours on this server and host move. I would like to thank him for his efforts on our behalf. Please keep in mind that MiceChat is a free site and your moderators and admins do this as a hobby. We aren't pretending to be a business, we don't bombard you with pop-ups, and we try very hard not to make overt requests for assistance. We do this because we love the Disney community.
Since our January 2005 launch, we have brought on nearly 3,500 new members. Think about that for a moment. 3,500 people and countless guests have read and posted to these forums. We are humbled by our success and quite thankful. While it certainly doesn't make us look professional that our site has been up and down for the last week (resulting in lost posts and features), we know that you understand and appreciate the services we provide you for free.
As I said in a lost post this morning: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making MiceChat your home! We are glad that you have stuck with us through this difficult time.
