Time to edit a post before the "last edited..." message shows up

It seems to be much shorter now. Why? I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes to review their posts a couple of times (in different voices, with different accents,) and takes comfort in the existence of Wite-Out.

It seems that you should get at least five minutes before the system publicly lists your edits, doesn't it? (11.03 a.m., Pussnboots removed a comma. 11.05 a.m., Puss put the comma back.) I mean, you're a neurotic and a perfectionist, but you don't want to put that out there, haha.

Is there a reason for the change?

You get 2 mintues to make as many changes as necessary.

The only reason why we do this, is because we don't have a limit - some people try to go back into their old posts and 'change time' by removing a message or changing it. This at least lets vistors know that the content has changed.

Changes past the two minute mark are also logged for moderator purposes.

I see, so it's mostly to prevent situations in which people say provocative things, edit them and then claim it never happened.

But it used to be longer than two minutes, right?

Nope. It's always been 2 minutes. Or the 5th edit, whichever comes first.

Hm, I must be getting slower then. So much for ol' quick-draw.
