    Question Moderation Change

Many moons ago, the 'Forum Leaders' column was left blank and Dusty announced that all moderators would moderate all forums. With the new forum themes, the link at the bottom of the page to 'View Forum Leaders' returned, but the page is blank. Today, moderator names are back in the forum leaders column. Is this just a mistake due to the addition of new mods or similar changes, or are mods once again moderating specific forums?

You don't miss a thing, do you? Well spotted!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

I noticed that as well. Thanks for asking about it
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

    Re: Moderation Change

We have brought on 5 new moderators, and have seperated it back into forums, to help get things organized again (some forums get overlooked a lot - this helps to prevent that). Morrigoon and I are "floating", covering all forums when needed. But, you're free to contact any moderator at any time, and we'll be happy to assist.

Still the best way to alert us to a situation is by using the "Report Bad Post" function. Sometimes, we do skip over threads or miss them, and this really, really, really helps us out.

    Ah, good then.

And yes. In case some members are curious, when you submit something through the 'Report Bad Post' form, it get's posted in a special forum within the Moderator Forum, where the mods can review it and decide what action to take.

somewhat wrong (unless there is a hack), the forum softwear(vBulliten 3.5) tipically sends an email to the moderators of that forum.... if there are no moderators of the forum it gets sent to the administration staff....

however Monorail man might have changed it in a hack...

I'm not sure how you know that, but you are correct. Reminder to all, we try not to discuss individual Mods or Mod issues on the boards. This is first and foremost a member moderated community. Members are encouraged to use PMs and Reputation to help keep the threads in line. However, once in a while a
    Mod's
assistance is required. Rather than contacting a Moderator directly, it is best to use the Report Post button at the bottom of the offending post.

Thank you all for your help (and to our very own C33 who knows everything and never misses anything! )

Dusty - I'll go get the plank ready over the shark tank. He knows too much.

    Re: Moderation Change

That used to show you all of the groups (Admins, Mods, MiceEars Crew Members, MiceChat News Club Members, and Darkbeer), and what forums (if any) they moderated. As mentioned above they switched a few months ago to a system where all mods moderate all forums, so the page and it's link was removed. After the softwear update the link has returned, but the page is still blank. If you want to see who moderates a particular forum, just look to the rightmost column on the forum homepage next to the forum you want to know about.

And Dusty forgot to mention; MiceAge Columnists are not moderators, even though they are listed as the moderatos of their column discussion forums, and while they would like to help, it isn't their job, so all questions and/or concerns should go to a moderator or administrator.

EDIT: I see what you're saying now; there is no public list of who is a mod and who isn't. This I believe is partially because the MiceChat Staff wants an open community, and doesn't want a class system. The mods are just in the background, helping keep the forum clean, but otherwise they're just regular members like you and me.

Yes! But who says being smart is a bad thing! Someone has to help balance out all of the nuts like me.
