Do people still get notified if a post is marked helpful or unhelpful?

    ETA on 3/7/13
I noticed yesterday that when I try to mark a post, that by default the pop up no longer says thank you, it say you need to fill in a reason why. The reason for marking has always been selected.

Are these reputations getting through to the posters?

The notification popup for reps stopped working for me about a month or two ago -- I thought it was my browser.

I stopped seeing notifications around this time as well. I have to click on settings to see if I've recieved any rep lately.

Same here. I hope they fix this. It was always a nice surprise to log in and find out that you were being notified of new reputation.

No. If you see that message you have left off one or more steps in the process of giving rep. First, click on the Helpful/Unhelpful link. Then select Helpful or Unhelpful. You then must choose from the list of reasons for the rep from the drop-down menu. After that, you need to click on the Add to Reptution button at the bottom right to complete the transaction. Having competed all that, you will then get the "thank you" message.

    Nice surprise, as in WTHeck!

Notifications are not being sent to members getting rep right now. To be sure we all keep up on our current status, we should all be checking in on our rep activity. Perhaps bookmark the "settings" or "my profile" pages as your landing page and take a look before heading off to the forums. Rep points are going through as they always have. Checking on your rep on a regular basis will also weed out the small percentage of rep that is incorrectly given. Always contact a mod or use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of every forum page to ask for a review of your rep. We are more than happy to take a look whenever you have concerns.

    Thank you.

I am doing that exactly as you have explained. I did recieve rep somtime in the last 24 hours. However I came across a post to give rep to, and still get the "You must give a reason to post **** repuation" message.

Is it possibly something with my laptop, or browser?

We've talked via PM, and we're going to get the tech folks on this and see what's up!

    Update:

I was able to mark a post tonight.

I also checked my setting and saw I had recieved a mark a few days ago. On the setting page it doesn't show who marked my post of what for anymore.

At the least I'm glad I was able to mark a wonderful MiceChat post .

Yes -- starting yesterday, the names of those gave us helpful reps are no longer visible.

You used to get a notification when you got a rep. But now that feature is no long working. The only way you can see if you received any new reps or just want to view your current reps is to click 'Settings' where your profile stuff is at.

Huh. Ok. I'll go look for that. I've been looking on my various pages, since someone mentioned being able to see it on their profile but haven't been able to find it.

Ok- found it. There's an actual "settings" button at the top of the pages! Thanks.

I still see the names of who has given me reps, and what posts they are for.
