Marking posts Helpful/Unhelpful Does anybody do it?

Since MC made the change to reputation marks under the Usernames, do people still mark posts?

It seems more threads get star ratings now, which I wonder if that has become the substitution to make public notice of our likes and dislike instead of marking posts which are only known privately by the marker and poster.

Yes, I definitely use the system.

Always have, and always will participate in the system that is in place here at MiceChat.

I've never been much of a "Rep" feedback user, but I will once in a while report something as either good or bad. Not commonly, though.

I use the system a lot. About 95%+ positive, and rarely negative.

I'm guessing I mark a post about once per hour that I'm logged on. I want to encourage the fun, and helpful posters to keep going.

Not anymore. Once in a while, but I don't see much use in the 'rep' system. I'll report a post that's particularly spammy, but that's about it.

I mark both helpful and unhelpful, though not as much as I used to since it seems to be abused by some (i.e. marking things unhelpful because they disagree, not because the post actually violates any "rule"). I am grateful the mods can adjust marks.

I wish the forums had more activity. I seem to not mark enough posts, because sometimes, I get the warning, that I have already marked somebody too recently.

I only use the positive portion because I don't like the anonymous aspect of giving negative rep.

I only give positive marks. I too, feel that the negative rep is being abused by some on this forum. I have had several posts marked for bashing when there is no bashing at all, simply someone not agreeing with me. I have even asked Mods why they don't review negative points before applying them to users' accounts and the response I got said that it would be too time consuming given the amount of points given daily. I countered it with the fact that the dispute process also takes a lot of time and we often have to wait WEEKS for them to get removed. There doesn't seem to be an easy answer.

I'm totally with you there. One time I agreed with someone's post, and some anonymous person said I was "bashing the opposite opinion."

    I use both.
I'm glad to see others do, too.
