Micespace - why make a private post?

I guess I'm just not "getting" why someone would make a post in their Micespace, then make it private? I mean if you didnt want everyone to know something then why post anything? And if you wanted to tell a certain few people something, couldn't you just PM them?

I guess I'm just curious as to what the logic is to having a Micespace (or any blog type thing on the web) where you babble your feelings to the public, then make some of your posts private.

What's your take on this phenomenon?

well..in some cases..the things i post may or may not be suitable for the everyday viewer but for people that i pick and choose..that sounds sort of elitest but with what i have had to deal with in my rl i sometimes need a place to rant and rave and not be scared that it will be used against me later ....

and since now almost everyone can get MC Gold (and therefore) read the posts in MiceSpace..I'd rather be sure that only the people i trust and know can read it

Always keep smiling because you never know who is falling in love with it.

In a way, it's also like the same logic behind writing something on a piece of paper and then burning it so nobody else sees it.

You know, it's just venting to yourself. Even if nobody sees it, just helps sometimes to get things out in writing.

Re: Micespace - why make a private post?

In other blogs I'll keep certain posts private if I'm complaining about work, becasue I'd rather not have that stuff get back to my work place. Similarly, if I'm talking about someone or soemthing that I'd prefer to keep to my circle of friends - it's far easier to do it that way than write multiple PMs Emails. For truely private posts - I guess it's a way to get things down and out of your head. No one else needs to see them, but it may help you clear your thoughts.

Re: Micespace - why make a private post?

Since MiceSpace is viewable by the entire boards and not just MiceChat Gold, I prefer to keep posts about my work or more intimate thoughts away from random guests. If I wanted to, I guess I could make the posts viewable to certain people, but I have been too lazy to add people.

I see MiceSpace as more of a journal than a blog, so when I need to have private thoughts, I believe it is my prerogative to do so.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

I don't even get why you would post a personal journal on the web at all...It's kinda personal, if you know what I mean!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

You know, if I wanted to post private thoughts, I wouldn't post them on the internet.

Of course, a private online journal might be more secure than a private hard copy journal
