    Rep question

This post contributes to the MiceChat community.

This post is against MiceChat Rules and Regulations.

Is this new? Have these always been the choices for rep? I thought they were

    I approve of this post

    and

    I disapprove of this post.

Could a mod clear up this mystery for me? I was under the impression that the rep system was a way of self-policing the board. Setting the community standard as it were. I don't believe there's a rule or regulation that prohibits posts that just plain offend.

    Thanks.

I think basically you give good rep to a good post (i.e. helping a member out) and neg rep to a member who either was rude or disrespectful to another member...or attacking them.

    It's really your say.

I'm just seeking clarification. I don't wish to discuss rep received or given.

I take it from your post that there was, in fact, a change.

I guess I got my answer. Mystery solved.

    Thanks.

Nothing has changed, only wording on the options.

It all depends on you classification of how it contributes. If it's a thread that's designed to be funny, then ya, go ahead and give it. But if it attempts to derail a thread, that doesn't seem very contributing to me.

    Re: Rep question

When someone is annoying like the guy who was posting the spoilers in a huge font in the Lost thread, can you give neg rep to them? Is what they are doing a violation of rules and regs?

    Re: Rep question

Aaah the uselessness of Micechat reputation, where positive and negative reputations cancel each other out, yet their definitions are not opposites of each other.

OK so there there is ONE instance where rep is useful -- for those members who have under 10 posts that come to this board to cause problems and are nearly-immediately litter boxed. I guess that happens often enough!

Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

    Re: Rep question

I wonder how long it's going to be before we have to submit a notarized form in triplicate with two witnesses before we can give someone a rep comment...

    .... ...

    Hold on, there's something... outside....

    a ... black helicopter???

    It's landing... outside my window???

... .... What the??? ... .... Who are those people???

    They're coming this way!!!

They're breaking down my front do... .... ..

Rep is perfect. The Rep system is flawless. We must not question the Rep system. This discussion must end. Thank you.

Discussing the system is fine. Just watch out for RDA (Reputation Detection Agency).

    Re: Rep question

I just hate watching my rep swirl down the drain because I don't have time to post much-makes me look like I have not been much of a member, when I was one of the first 100 and around forEVER....

Oh well, those who know me, know what counts.
