New limit on number of photos per post.

I assume this change has been implemented due to bandwidth costs, but I find it to be a very upsetting change. People such as myself who contribute to these boards with frequent photo updates and trip reports will be affected by this.

I'm sure theres an easy solution to avoiding this new restriction, and that would be dividing your photos into a couple posts. But that's annoying, and it does nothing to help save MiceChat's bandwidth.

I really don't like this change, and its unfortunate that it happened. Maybe I'm just too anal about having everything in the same post and formatted correctly, but I think this is going to impact the amount of quality photo updates and trip reports MiceChatters will contribute.

Is there any way we can get this restriction to 25 photos per post removed?? Pllllease?

I think 25 is more than enough for any trip report. MG, yours are usually a link, so shouldn't be a problem....right?

Yeah... I don't mind. When I did my TR, I just did it all in one post, then cut and pasted into separate ones. They were still one after another and it was a little easier to scroll through.

Re: New limit on number of photos per post.

And is it 25 per POST or 25 per THREAD. If it's 25 per POST, why not put about 15 in one post, then start another post. Isn't that what most LARGE trip report folks are doing now? Day #1, Day#2 and so forth?

It MAY be a bandwidth issue. We've had quite a few trip reports lately, and I've enjoyed them all. But I can't help wondering if something somewhere isn't beginning to fill up with all of these gigs of photos we keep sharing. If Monorail Man says 25 is enough, I'm sure he has his reasons.

And speaking as someone on the outer reaches of his DSL connection, more than 25 would keep me waiting until some time next week.

I see no problem with 25 per post. 25 is a lot of photos. IF its not enough, put some in post #2

25 is a lot...when I do post pictures I usually just choose a few and link to the rest anyway.

Re: New limit on number of photos per post.

25 is a lot. But theres also a lot going on around the Resort right now.

My updates have been upwards of 35-50 photos lately, and although thats a ton of pics, for the most part I think the members of this board have been appreciative.

I don't see what the point of limiting the number of photos per post is if you can just start another post and add more pictures. It just takes up more bandwidth, because then the server has to display your signature, avatar, rep points bar, and other data all over again.

    It's pointless.

As for posting a few and linking the rest to a different site, thats not what I like to do. I know how people work, and just like with newspapers, people don't follow the jumps on stories. They'll check out what you've got to offer in the post, and then they'll go on to the next thread. The problem with my updates is that they aren't just fluff photos of pretty scenes around Disneyland, or of people... they're of recent developments and contruction work inside the parks. I could do what Darkbeer does I guess, but then I just feel like its a waste of time to even bother to take photos.

    But whatever.

    MG,
What is it that bothers you, exactly?

It's a matter of hitting Submit twice, rather than once. I just posted a photo heavy thread and it bothered me not at all.

And honestly, after 25 pictures, most people are just scrolling too quickly to take a break and actually look at the pictures.
