Going into the litterbox generally means the thread got off topic, or perhaps it got too obscene. You can view the litterbox with a gold account.

There is a non gold litterbox but any thread that begins to debate religion needs to be removed from the main site so that the search engines don't find it. If the thread just turns into bickering or gets wildly off topic, it goes into the regular litterbox where it can be viewed and further destroyed by all.

Going "gold" gives you some pretty sweet access. You gotta be 18...but, man, it's worth it.
