Should there be a Disney Merchandise section?

Hi guys!

I know there are a ton of different sections for Disney already, but I don't think there's a good place to talk merchandise.

Normally, we've just been discussing merchandise in the Disneyland thread. Or the florida residents discuss merch in their WDW thread. But sometimes or a lot of times, Disney merchandise covers ALL resorts and it would be great if we all come together to discuss what is offered. That way someone in paris can talk about something he/she saw and we in CA can go "that's not fair!" hehe

Also, the Disney non-park Offerings thread doesn't apply for merchandise, because the merchandise ARE park offerings. But there's also a lot of disney merchandise that can be found elsewhere too.


So... can we have a Disney Merchandise and Collectibles section on mice chat?

Olszewski fans can call it their home on upcoming releases and talk about those.

Disney limited merchandise events from all parks can be brought up here.

Star Tours new merchandise that covers both parks can be brought up here. Like this stormtrooper Donald for example..




Fans of Disney artwork can showcase their collection and let us know what they're hoping to buy next.

The "show us your collection" thread can live here and not be buried under all the disneyland chat. Also, readers who don't frequent the disneyland section can also contribute.

So how 'bout it? Am i the only one who thinks this would make for a popular addition?

This is something that we have been kicking around since the early days of the site. This would include Pins, Park Collectibles, figurines, Disney vintage and antique items, etc. The short answer is that we'd really like to do this. The complication is that it draws spammers (as we have already seen whenever the subject of collectibles comes up). If we create a collectibles section, we would need the members to be very good about using their reported posts and rep to help keep the spam-bots off the site.

Hmmm ... sounds like it would be a good idea. I know ever since I got my AP I seem to buy a whole lot more of those collectibles. Right now I'm really into pins though and there is already a club for that, although having a whole section might open things up to more folks ... hmmm ... I say yes!
