    Ratzenfrattzen Avatar Problems

I have neither been able to successfully change my avatar images nor post images in the sig; not from my browser and not from photobucket. Every time I try to upload an avatar image, I get the "invalid file" screen . Tonight, I attempted to upload an image from photobucket to the sig but it is only visible as a red X. This has been a problem for about a year and I am extremely frustrated. Please Help. Thank You

    You mean, like this:

In Photobucket, over on the right side of each photo's preview page are a set of link tags for different purposes. Just copy/paste the one that says, "IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards".

Thanks for helpingWard. I did the very thing you suggested when I first uploaded it! How come I can't see it on my computer? Still, how come I can't change my avatars?

That's odd. I'm able to add it to a post, to my sig, and set it as my avatar - all with no problem-o.

Maybe there's some sort of option setting that's stopping you...

Sig fixed. You had an extra [IMG]http:// in the middle of your code for some reason.

    Yup, mods can do that.

Now about your avatar... remember the maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 150 pixels or 128.0 KB (whichever is smaller). Are you trying to load an image that is to big? Where is the image you are trying to load? For the avatar you don't have to have the image on a hosting site like photobucket. You can upload directly from a file on your computer. In fact, sometimes its easier to do it that way.

Thats what I'm not sure of. Unless he's trying to load it from photobucket and has extra code in it somewhere for some reason too. (The avatar part I don't have access to the code) I'll have to look into it more later when I get home from work or find out from him when he gets online exactly what and where he's trying to get the avatar image from.

It seems that you had a corrupt previous avatar. I've wiped the old one, and you should be able to upload a new one.

Thanks Pengy for your help! Mod Power! Don't know how it got an extra "img" code stuck in it.

Aha! Maybe that is how the sig was hung up because I did use the IMG code. Next time I'll remember to use the URL. Thanks!
