New MiceChat Landing Page

Howdy Chatters,

We are hard at work on a new landing page for the site. In the near future, we'll have a fancy new landing page which will highlight the top threads in the various sections of our site and also allow us to run original content and columns. The landing page will make it easier for Newspapers and Blogs to link to MiceChat and allow new users to more quickly adapt to our site. The traditional "Forum" view will always remain available as well and is already a permanent tab at the top of the site (just to the right of the tab for "Home").

For now, we are using a simple version of our proposed new landing page. You can see a dynamic version of what we want to do here: http://www.micechat.com/forums/portal.php or by clicking on "Home" from the tabs at the top of the site.

We'll be moving some of the sections around and will soon be featuring some original content at the top of the site as well. Eventually you'll see a fancier version of this page. But for now, kick the tires a bit and let us know if there are any important features that we are missing from our new home page.

Very cool, but that page looks weird on my Firefox.

Interesting Dusty.

On my screen, with the current threads as of right now.. the right hand panels are not lining up with the left hand ones. Starting with Top Travel Discussions, they start getting out of alignment with the left ones.

One thing I've always struggled with (because I'm too lazy to type it) is why isn't MiceAge a tab at the top of the page along with 'forums' 'shots' etc?

I've always had to navigate back to the forum listing page to get to miceage (since threads in the forum don't even have links to the stories themselves...)

So far, the page is just too wide.

Weird in what way? Can you give some specific ideas of why it looks weird with Firefox? Is it the formating? The layout? Colors? Define "weird"

Yes, the forums should remain unchanged. The only difference is the new portal page.

good, I need no more confusion :lol: and yes the page is funny looking, way to wide and uneven :)

I've tweaked the page, it should look better at lower resolutions. :)
