Re: The RCMC: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Random

Considering how much I like to talk, it is better for my grandson when I text him. We say what we need to say, and I don't bore him with needless conversation.

My husband loves the texting feature. He is able to keep in touch with our grandson each and every day that way, and my grandson doesn't get too aggravated, or feel that grandpa is being too bothersome.

Re: The RCMC: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Random

Rhetorical question. If you are dating someone, and you have plans say for the evening, is a text message considered acceptable now to communicate that you must break the date at the last minute?

And if you want to "dump" someone, is it okay to do the "it's not you, it's meee" thing by text?

I'd appreciate thoughts you may have.

Texts are perfectably acceptable in many cases, But in the great majority of cases, without terribly mitigating circumstances, I say no to the above examples.

LUCKY! I wish I had texting. My parents are extremely anti-texting. They think if you need to talk to someone about something it would be faster to call than text and that it's rude to text. They blocked all texts on mine and my brother's phones. Meaning we can't receive texts or send any out. It stinks because I have some friends who only text people and they thought I was mean or that I didn't really like them because I never responded to them. Then they felt bad when the found out that I don't have texting and didn't even their texts. >.<
    Are they anti-email, too?

My sister needs to realize that frying a veggie burger in oil and then dousing it in cheese and ranch dressing completely ruins the health aspect of said veggie burger.

Especially being that they are MY veggie burgers. -sigh-

Maybe, but it does give the burger some flavor!

Sorry, but most of the veggie-burgers I've tried from the store, taste much like the cardboard they are packaged in. I have had some decent ones in vegetarian restaurants, though.

Now the fact that they were your veggie burgers, well you would be well within your right..to start a FOOD FIGHT!!!

The veggie burgers I have are actually rather tasty. They have corn, rice, black beans, and peppers and various other mexican seasonings inside of them.. they don't need any additional flavor.

I agree. I think when breaking a date a call is definitely better. As far as dumping someone, I think that should be done in person.

Yea I agree with you. There are some things that are just plain wrong to do over texts. Like the examples you gave. The breaking a date can be over the phone, but actually breaking up with someone in anyway should be done in person face to face. Texting can be really impersonal for some things and true emotion isn't always read correctly in words on a screen. So things that can lead to horrible drama later if misinterpreted should always be in person.

haha. Thankfully, no. They are anti instant messaging too. They are like you might as well just call the person. I'm a rebel in this area without them knowing just because I know that if I didn't IM people, I would literally be one of those people who live in their house with no life. >.<

They're interesting examples, which have come up often in social media... In regards to dates, you should call. But, if you're texting, that just means you never want to see the person again.

In regards to breaking up... things can be worse.

Today, I checked my facebook, and my wife of 5 years was listed as single. I then write on her wall that it is ok to announce to be married. She writes back saying that we have to talk and to come to the kitchen. My wife divorced me over facebook. FML
Texting is for brief messages when you want a quick answer methinks. Definitely agree with:

Re: The RCMC: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Random

Had a fun day at the parks, it was crazy crowded, and was only able to go on 7 attractions while I was there. We got in the parks around noon, and left around 8. It wasn't even close to a full day but I still enjoyed it.

Checked out the new Great Moments show, and really enjoyed it.
I don't think the two brothers segment works as well in this show as it does American Adventure at Epcot (hearing them bickering at Epcot just adds a level of awesomeness)

Don't plan on being on much longer, I need to sleep so I can make the flight in the morning.

Oh also, there are not many pictures from the trip. I will eventually load the pictures, and probably load them into a blog. I will send a link when I get that done.
